When Game of Thrones fans think about who Maisie Williams' best friend would be in real life, the first person who probably comes to mind is Sophie Turner, the co-star who played her on-screen sister in the show for almost a decade. But when it comes to the "BFF" title, it looks like Turner may have some competition as Williams begins to make new connections with Kourtney Kardashian.
Williams revealed that she bonded with newlyweds Kardashian and Travis Barker at the 2022 Met Gala over her next big television role. The Game of Thrones star, who plays Pamela Rooke in the upcoming biographical miniseries about The Sex Pistols, explained that she had to bring up the British band in order to start a conversation with the famous couple.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Williams said it was the perfect "in" because she remembered that Kardashian and Barker dressed up as Sid and Nancy for Halloween two years ago. "I'm in a show, and Sid and Nancy are in that show, and I'm in it too, and so hi!" Williams said to Fallon. It also helped that she was seated at the same table with Kardashian and Barker inside the gala — she had a rare opportunity to connect with them, and she took it.
Williams went on to say that the couple told her they couldn't wait to watch it and that their interaction pretty much only went as far as that. Despite the short exchange, she joked that they became "best friends" at that moment. She also admitted that she had a similar experience with U2's Bono, explaining to Fallon that she too played it cool when she met him at his concert.
When it comes to her friendships with her former Game of Thrones co-stars, Williams has said before that they still try to keep in touch with each other and that they're even in a group chat together. Such a statement contradicts rumors that Williams has fallen out with the rest of the cast in favor of a more secluded life in rural Sussex with her boyfriend, Reuben Selby. No matter who Williams becomes friends with, whether it be a Kardashian or another high-profile Hollywood star, fans can rest assured that she always has her Game of Thrones family in her heart.
