There's more than one thing that can make a character powerful. Some characters have strength on their side and can take and dish out powerful attacks. Some characters are super speedy and can overwhelm their opponents, making it extremely difficult to hit them while they can land several blows at once.

Some extremely intelligent characters can outwit their opponent or find a solution for any problem that comes their way. And then there are characters who are experts at hiding themselves, that can leave their opponent completely unaware of their moves until it's too late. Characters that can turn invisible can be extremely difficult to fight, or extremely rewarding to play, depending on which side of the battlefield a player is on.

8 Spy - Team Fortress 2

In Team Fortress 2, it's important to have a good balance between the three classes of characters: offense, defense, and support. And for players that want the ability to covertly complete objectives and take out enemies, the Spy is the character for them. Being a covert operative, the Spy has different items at his disposal that can be used to take down enemies quickly and sneak by them without being noticed.

One of these items that helps the Spy do that is a cloaking watch. All the cloaking watches allow the Spy to turn invisible to enemies for a set period. The Spy's default cloaking watch, the Invisibility Watch, allows him to stay cloaked for 9.4 seconds.

7 Sombra - Overwatch

In Overwatch, there are three different roles that a player can take on a team, and each of the game's characters, or heroes, is categorized into one of these three roles. There are tank heroes who focus on defense, damage heroes who focus on offense, and support heroes who buff or heal their team.

The hero Sombra is categorized as a damage dealer, though her way of doing damage is more covert than other heroes of her type. Sombra has an ability called Stealth, which lets her become invisible for a period of time. She becomes faster, and she can't be auto-targeted by certain attacks.

6 Predator - Mortal Kombat X

Predators or the Yautja are one of the ultimate fictional hunters. They're a warrior race that thrives off of hunting beings they deem to be prey. That type of battle mentality makes them perfect for the Mortal Kombat universe, making them a great addition to Mortal Kombat X's character roster.

The Predator came with a lot of different weapons and moves that fans of the Predator movies will recognize. One of these things is his ability to cloak himself, using his wrist gauntlets. He becomes temporarily invisible and will only take half damage if he's hit by an opponent.

5 Reptile - Mortal Kombat

It isn't just DLC guest characters that have the ability to turn invisible, there are several original Mortal Kombat characters that have the same ability. And one of those characters is the Saurian warrior, Reptile. Starting off as a secret character in the original Mortal Kombat, Reptile became playable in Mortal Kombat 2. And even back then he had the ability to turn invisible.

Depending on the game, his invisibility can be called something else, like Stealth in Mortal Kombat X. He'll turn visible again if he gets hit in Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11 and take some damage, but in the other games, he'll take no damage when he's knocked out of invisibility.

4 Tsuyu Asui - My Hero One's Justice 2

My Hero Academia does have one character whose Quirk is invisibility, Hagakure, whose hero name is Invisible Girl. But she's yet to make an appearance in any of the My Hero games. But she's not the only one with the ability to become invisible.

Tsu, a hero name Froppy, can do so as well. One of her ultimate moves is Camouflage which lets her blend into her surrounding area using her Frog Quirk. In My Hero One's Justice 2, that move becomes her "Camofrog" move which lets her become invisible to opponents, making it harder for her to be hit.

3 Gray Fox - Metal Gear Solid

Gray Fox is a character in Metal Gear that many fans love. He's been a part of the series since the first Metal Gear in 1987. His connection with Solid Snake is interesting and layered as it shifts between ally, enemy, and even sometimes neither of the two.

Gray Fox is also one of the best ninja characters in video games as he returns as Cyborg Ninja in Metal Gear Solid. His boss fight in Metal Gear Solid can be difficult if the player isn't properly prepared for it, as he turns invisible during his second phase. Having and equipping the thermal goggles makes the fight much easier.

2 Fulgore - Killer Instinct

Taking inspiration from games like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct has a roster of characters with different fighting styles that are sure to fit with any fan of fighting games. One of the characters that have been in Killer Instinct since the beginning is Fulgore, a fighting cyborg that's the main enemy of the series' protagonist, Jago.

Fulgore is considered to be one of the harder characters for new players to master because of the tools needed to perform some of his moves. But it's a character worth trying out, especially since he has the ability to turn invisible. In Killer Instinct 2, Fulgore has a Super Move called "Inviso" that lets him turn invisible. It does drain the Super Meter each time it's used, but for some, it is a small price to pay to be able to mask their moves from their opponents.

1 Rin - Tenchu: Fatal Shadows

Tenchu is an action-adventure ninja game that takes place in 16th-century feudal Japan. Tenchu: Fatal Shadows is a game that takes place between the first Tenchu game and Tenchu 3. In Fatal Shadows, players are introduced to a new playable character named Rin, a young kunoichi who is on a path of vengeance for the massacre of her ninja clan, the Hagakure.

Rin has several skills that can be unlocked throughout the game by collecting scrolls that are given for successful stealth kills. One of the skills that can be unlocked is called "Shadow", and it lets her turn invisible for five seconds. She can't use items or attack, but it is a really helpful skill when it comes to sneaking up on enemies for stealth kills.
