FromSoftware games are infamous within the gaming community for being some of the hardest games out there, with highly difficult combat and unforgiving consequences for failure. Beating a game like Elden Ring or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an accomplishment in its own right, but modern gaming has added the reward of trophies and achievement for players looking to keep track of their accomplishments. While some games have brutal requirements to earn that coveted 100% completion trophy or tick off every achievement on the list, FromSoftware titles have surprisingly straightforward requirements given how notoriously difficult the games are.

The rise of achievement hunting and platinum trophy chasing has produced a subset of gamers whose goal is to unlock every possible trophy or achievement. There are a handful of games among the completionist community with a reputation for being a nightmare to complete, but while FromSoftware titles are generally tough games, the requirements for their completion are relatively tame, as they rarely contain any real tricks. Time and luck are sometimes involved, but there's no trippy around-the-world achievements that take hours unto themselves to unlock.

FromSoftware's Plat Trophies and Achievements are Straightforward

While some games can seem fairly easy and accessible to a wide audience at first glance, they can often end up being some of the most challenging games for completionists. Games like Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time have some ridiculous achievements hidden under their cute and charming exteriors. Crash Bandicoot 4 has an achievement that requires players to accomplish such feats as clearing every level while collecting every crate without dying, and Sackboy includes an achievement that requires players to beat all the game's time trials in a row without dying.

By contrast, the brutality of the core gameplay of FromSoftware's Soulslike games hides the fact that their achievements are relatively simple to complete. It's clear the developers expect players to die repeatedly in-game since there are no insane achievement requirements like finishing the game without dying, and most achievements can be unlocked simply by progressing naturally through the main game. While there are some achievements that require players to get different endings through multiple playthroughs, which can end up taking some time to finish, they are still nowhere near the hardest achievements to unlock.

For example, the open-world nature of Elden Ring makes it relatively easy to complete in comparison to other FromSoft titles. In fact, the fact that players can go straight into NG+ and be overpowered gods compared to some of the earlier areas makes cleaning up achievements pretty straightforward. Dark Souls, on the other hand, can require a lot of time in how long it takes to unlock all pyromancies and luck, given some weapons have a small drop rate. It requires a little more luck and time than other FromSoftware games, but still, it's not as bad as achievement lists in some games that require all of that and more.

One of the most difficult FromSoftware games to complete is Bloodborne, which has the added difficulty of Chalice Dungeons that players have to tackle in order to earn all trophies. Even then, fans have found ways to simplify the process, and anyone who dares to make it through the end of one of these games may find the draw to go the extra mile even better. In comparison to their combat, FromSoftware's achievement and trophy lists are usually made easier by mastering their gameplay and can be more enjoyable than necessarily challenging.
