After several months of teasing, Friday the 13th developer Illfonic is finally ready to confirm one of the fans’ biggest requests: a Jason X skin will be added to the game in a future update.

This week, Friday the 13th rolled out its Virtual Cabin 2.0 update, which gives players an online space to explore when they’re not hunting counselors or trying to outrun Jason. On top of that, the Virtual Cabin also included a series of puzzles scattered throughout the area. One has the player inputting a code into a computer, another has the player wearing Jason’s iconic masks in a certain order, and another has them scattering figures around the cabin.

Most fans assumed that the puzzles would eventually lead to some sort of reveal, and they were right. Once all of the Virtual Cabin 2.0 puzzles are complete, the game reveals that the Uber Jason skin and a new Grendel Map are coming soon for Friday the 13th. Another panel reveals that a younger version of Jason is coming to the game, but it’s unclear how that character model will be used. He’s much smaller in stature and doesn’t seem to fit with the current approach to killers in Friday the 13th.

But the real highlight for players is the reveal of the Uber Jason skin. Even before Friday the 13th officially released in late May, fans were clamoring for a skin designed after Jason’s look in Jason X. In that film, Jason is cryogenically frozen, wakes up on a spaceship in the future, is “killed”, and then reanimated as a superhuman version of himself. Where the other iterations of Jason have been more traditional in their design, this Uber Jason had a shiny chrome mask, piercing red eyes, and an minimalistic black costume.

Outside of the brief teaser image and the datamined character model, it’s unclear when Uber Jason may be added to Friday the 13th The Game or what abilities he might include. If the developers plan on staying true to the Jason X film then we expect Uber Jason to wield a chrome machete and he should be difficult to stun. This is a genetically enhanced version of Jason after all, so he should be a formidable foe.

Friday the 13th is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
