The free PlayStation Plus games for February 2024 have been revealed. Each month, subscribers to the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers of Sony's PlayStation Plus subscription service get to claim three free games for their digital libraries, and February is no exception to the rule.

Unlike the rotating games available as part of the PS Plus Extra and Premium libraries, the monthly free PS Plus games can be kept forever as long as one remains subscribed to the service. The free PS Plus games typically consist of older titles, though there are rare occasions when brand-new, day one games are given away as well.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members get to play some new games every month, but 10 titles will be leaving the service in February 2024.

As it so happens, the free PS Plus games for February 2024 are headlined by day one release Foamstars, which is joined by Rollerdrome and Steelrising. Foamstars and Rollerdrome have native PS4 and PS5 versions available, though PS Plus subscribers need a PS5 if they hope to play Steelrising through their subscription. For those unfamiliar with the games, Foamstars is a 4v4 online party shooter from Square Enix that's drawn some comparisons to Nintendo's Splatoon franchise. Rollerdrome is a third-person shooter that combines shooting action with skating traversal, and Steelrising is a Soulslike action-RPG.

Foamstars is still unproven at the time of this writing, but it will be interesting to see how fans react to it. It being available as a free PS Plus game should be huge for its initial player count, though it remains to be seen if it can attract an audience. Rollerdrome earned mostly positive reviews when it first released in 2022, while Steelrising reviews were more mixed. PS Plus subscribers can come to their own conclusions starting February 6.

There's even more for PS Plus subscribers to look forward to in February 2024 beyond the free game offerings. As an extra freebie, PS Plus subscribers can also claim the Icons Pack for Fall Guys, which adds costumes based on popular PlayStation characters, specifically from the Horizon and Ratchet & Clank franchises. Like the free PS Plus games, the Fall Guys freebie will be available beginning February 6.
