The free PlayStation Plus games for February 2024 are available now, but one of the games, Foamstars, is missing its Platinum trophy. The first Tuesday of each month is a time to celebrate for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as that's the day they are treated to the new free PS Plus game additions.

Starting now, PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim Foamstars, Rollerdrome, and Steelrising for their digital libraries. Foamstars and Rollerdrome have native PS4 and PS5 versions available, whereas Steelrising is only available to PS5 gamers. All three of the free PS Plus games for February 2024 will be available until March 4, with the March 2024 PS Plus games replacing them on Tuesday, March 5.

Since relaunching the subscription service in June 2022, Sony has added a host of games per month to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium.

Typically, new PlayStation games means an opportunity to unlock Platinum trophies for the dedicated trophy hunters out there, but unfortunately, Foamstars doesn't have one. While both Rollerdrome and Steelrising have Platinum trophies, Foamstars is missing out, for reasons that are unclear at the time of this writing. In fact, Foamstars only has 12 trophies for players to collect in total. This will likely upset some trophy hunters that were looking forward to playing the new multiplayer-centric game from Square Enix, but at least Rollerdrome and Steelrising have Platinum trophies to collect.

Foamstars isn't the only February 2024 PS5 release that is missing a Platinum trophy. It was recently confirmed that Tomb Raider 1-2-3 Remastered will not have any Platinum trophies on PS5, even though the PS4 version of the game will have three Platinums for players to collect. This discrepancy is reportedly due to Sony's policies when it comes to Platinum trophies, but it seems to have annoyed fans. There doesn't really seem to be any good reason to leave Platinum trophies out of these games, so hopefully the issue is addressed soon.

In any case, there should still be plenty of trophies for PS Plus subscribers to unlock this month, especially if they are signed up for the Extra or Premium tiers of the service. The PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February 2024 haven't been announced yet, but they should be revealed within the next couple of weeks.
