Sony has officially announced the free PlayStation Plus games that subscribers can claim for their digital libraries in December 2023. One of the main reasons to sign up for the Essential tier of the PlayStation Plus subscription service is to snag the monthly free games. Three new games are available every month, and December 2023 is no exception to the rule.
The free PS Plus games for December 2023 will be available on Tuesday, December 5 and will be up for grabs until Monday, January 1, 2024. At that point, they will be replaced by the free PS Plus games for January 2024, whatever they may be. PS Plus subscribers will have to wait until next month to learn about January's offerings, but they can turn their attention to the free PS Plus games for December 2023 in the meantime.
PS Plus Extra Losing 11 Games on December 19
PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers should note that 11 games are scheduled to leave the lineup come December 19.
The free PS Plus games for December 2023 are LEGO 2K Drive, Powerwash Simulator, and Sable. Native PS4 and PS5 versions of LEGO 2K Drive and Powerwash Simulator are available, whereas only a native PS5 version of Sable exists, meaning PS4 gamers are unfortunately out of luck when it comes to that particular freebie. Again, the free PS Plus games for December 2023 won't be available until December 5, so subscribers have some time before they can add these games to their collection.

It remains to be seen how PS Plus subscribers will react to the free PS Plus games for December 2023. On one hand, none of the games exactly have universal appeal, but on the other hand, there's still some serious value here. LEGO 2K Drive released just months ago, making it a particularly impressive "get" for the service, even if its status as a racing game may turn off some fans. And while Powerwash Simulator isn't a huge blockbuster game, it has developed a dedicated fanbase, and now PS Plus subscribers can see what all the fuss is about. Sable, meanwhile, is an open world game with a unique art style that could prove to be a surprise hit among PS Plus subscribers.
It will be another week before the free PS Plus games for December 2023 roll around, and so fans should make sure they have claimed the November 2023 offerings in the meantime. As a reminder, the free PS Plus games for November 2023 are Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Dragon Ball: The Breakers, and Mafia 2: Definitive Edition, available until Monday, December 4.

LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world racing game that brings extreme racing to LEGO lovers as they have never experienced before. Racers will have to drift, boost, jump, and use multiple vehicles during races to finish in first place. Cup Series offers ultra-competitive racing action, while Story Mode will keep gamers engaged through a compelling campaign. Or LEGO racers can simply explore the diverse worlds in the game, completing missions and claiming collectibles.
