Sony's PS Plus games for the month of August are available to download right now. This month's offerings include the party title Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout as well as the classic shooter, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is one of two games available for free this month. The title is an online multiplayer game that supports up to 60 players to play together at once. Players may either play cooperatively, or in a free-for-all style. One big plus to this game being offered this month, is that it is a brand-new release.
But the real star of this month's PS Plus offering is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. The title is a direct remaster of the 2009 classic shooter, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. The game is exactly the same as fans remember it when it first released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles back in the day, but now with upgraded visuals. The title comes to the PS Plus service at arguably the perfect time, with the Modern Warfare remake just releasing last year, as well as the free-to-play title Call of Duty: Warzone currently being one of the most popular battle royale games out.
Both of these titles are available right now for download, and will be free for PS Plus subscribers until August 31st. Once downloaded, all of the games will be available for players as long as they remain PS Plus subscribers.
In other PlayStation news, there will be a State of Play event taking place later this week that is rumored to have more information on the PlayStation 5 including its price, release, and pre-order details. It also will supposedly reveal additional information in regards to PS Now and PS Plus services, which are said to be getting major overhauls on the upcoming console.
While there is still no concrete release date set for the PS5, it's been confirmed that the console will release some time this holiday season in direct competition with Microsoft's Xbox Series X. Gamers are sure to learn additional details about the console in this week's upcoming State of Play event.
