It's the first Tuesday of the month, which is always an exciting time for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The first Tuesday of each month is when PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to a fresh batch of free PS Plus games, with subscribers now able to claim three more games for their digital collection.

Headlining the free PS Plus games for April 2021 is Oddworld: Soulstorm, which is exclusive to PS Plus subscribers on PS5. Oddworld: Soulstorm is a re-imagining of Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, serving as a direct sequel to Oddworld: New 'n Tasty. Oddworld: Soulstorm gameplay footage has looked very impressive, though the game is reportedly struggling with some bugs at launch that players should be aware of.

Meanwhile, there are two PS4 titles that PlayStation Plus subscribers can add as well. One of these is Days Gone, a first-party PlayStation game developed by Syphon Filter developer Bend Studio. Days Gone earned somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its release, but public perception of the game has improved in recent years. It's worth pointing out that Days Gone is also available through the PS Plus Collection on PS5.

And finally, the third PS4 game that's now available to PlayStation Plus subscribers is Zombie Army 4: Dead War. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a third-person co-op shooter all about killing hordes of zombies. Perhaps in response to it being added to the free PS Plus lineup, Zombie Army 4 is also coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, so users on both PlayStation and Xbox should be able to check it out this month with little financial commitment.

There will be more free games for PlayStation users to claim in April besides just what's available through PlayStation Plus. The PlayStation Play at Home program has been revitalized for 2021, with users currently able to claim a whopping nine free games through the program. This includes a variety of PlayStation VR titles as well as some well-regarded indie games available on PS4. Later this month, PlayStation gamers will also be able to claim Horizon Zero Dawn for free.

Horizon Zero Dawn being available for free is especially exciting as it is not even currently available through the PS Plus Collection on PS5. Between the PlayStation Play at Home program and the free PS Plus games lineup, there should be plenty of content for PlayStation gamers to get their hands on without any added cost to themselves.
