Playground Games recently announced a new update for Forza Horizon 5, which came out on March 1. The update fixed two recurring issues, one of which was getting on the nerves of high-level players. Strangely, players with a lot of cars in their garage reported crash issues whenever they started the game.
Besides fixing the technical issues, the new update will make the game more accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing gamers. Xbox Game Studios has announced the new Forza Horizon 5 update will introduce ASL and BSL support for its in-game cinematics. The announcement was in a recently released trailer that featured several prominent members of the Forza Horizon 5 development team.
The trailer featured creative director Mike Brown, Microsoft's chief accessibility officer Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Gaming and Disability Steering Committee of Microsoft member Micheal Anthony, and several other notable personalities. Since he was a toddler, Micheal Anthony has been deaf and was given a sneak peek of Forza Horizon's new update before its release. He feels the game is now more involving for him, and it was much easier to interact with the game. Having ASL and BSL support in cutscenes and cinematics will tremendously help deaf gamers to get the best out of racing games like Forza Horizon 5. Being deaf herself, Microsoft's chief accessibility officer Jenny Lay-Flurrie sympathizes with deaf gamers who rely on their family members due to the absence of sign language actors.
With the addition of sign languages, hard-of-hearing gamers will enjoy all the aspects of Forza Horizon 5, including the recently unveiled Chinese cars. This new update and the unveiling of new cars only raise the question whether Playground Games will roll out more post-launch content.
Some rumors suggest Playground Games is working on the first DLC expansion pack of Forza Horizon 5. Although there's no official information about the rumored DLC, this new update will possibly make the game more enjoyable for hard-of-hearing fans.
