The Eliminator was first introduced in an update to Forza Horizon 4 and was a big success for developer Playground Games. The battle royale mode has returned to Forza Horizon 5, and this time it is linked to earning weekly Festival Playlist points.

The challenge asks players to finish at least 30th in The Eliminator in Forza Horizon 5, but winning will provide even more XP, Credits, and Accolades. It can also be a fun multiplayer experience if the right tips and tricks for The Eliminator are applied.

There are a few hints given at the start of players' first Eliminator match, but they can be easily forgotten, and there are additional ways to help ensure players rank high. Some Eliminator tips and tricks to winning in Forza Horizon 5 include:

  • Choose to spawn near towns and buildings to increase the odds of getting a Car Drop.
  • Make sure to use the right joystick to look around the area for purple smoke indicating a Car Drop.
  • Don't spawn in, or travel through a town unless absolutely necessary, as it can be difficult to navigate out of.
  • Stay completely still to hide a player's icon on the minimap from others.
  • If you have a much higher car rank, don't be afraid to challenge other players to a head-to-head race.
  • Don't cut through areas heavily packed with trees (or other obstacles) at high speed while racing another player.
  • Downgrading a car is recommended if the vehicle does not suit the type of terrain players are currently on.

Winning The Eliminator will provide players with lots of XP that can help them level up fast in Forza Horizon 5. As long as 30th or above is reached at least once a season, players will receive 3 Festival Playlist points. These Eliminator Tips and Tricks should help players on their way to more points, and more XP.

Best Car in The Eliminator

Hoonigan RS200 in Forza Horizon 4

From the current roster of vehicles, the Hoonigan RS200 is the best car to get in The Eliminator. It's not as fast as other Rank 10 vehicles, like the Lambo Centenario or Mercedes-AMG One (which was a Series 1 Reward in Forza Horizon 5), but it is the most versatile.

The Hoonigan is great in normal campaign events like Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5, and its proficiency as an allrounder carries over to The Eliminator. No matter what type of biome players find themselves in as the circle closes, the Hoonigan can help secure a victory.

Just remember to slow down to a manageable speed while driving through trees and other obstacles. Repairing a car in Forza Horizon 5 isn't the problem, but crashing will significantly lower the odds of winning if other players drive well.

Forza Horizon 5 is out now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
