Fortnite has introduced a wave of new game modes for Chapter 5, Season 1 with their Big Bang event, and these new modes feature some new XP glitches that players are able to achieve rather easily. As of the release of this guide, the XP glitches in Fortnite have not been patched, and Epic Games has yet to comment on the situation. For those fearing a ban, it is unlikely, as Fortnite has never banned players in the past for using XP glitches, nor have they reset progress on their accounts.

Here is everything players need to know about Fortnite, including season quests, beginner guides, and all sorts of tips and tricks.

The Fortnite XP glitch for Chapter 5, Season 1 can be achieved in a few easy steps for both Fortnite Festival and the LEGO Fortnite mode. All players can easily reach level 100 in Fortnite and beyond, even without the quests players might think they need. There are three methods for the XP glitch to work, and one of them simply requires 15 minutes of playtime, so there is no need to be disheartened for players who have already completed specific quests.

As of December 12, 2023, the Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 1 XP glitch has been patched, but future guides will be available if a new XP glitch arrives.

Fortnite XP Glitch Tutorial

This video will help showcase the steps that players need to take in order to achieve the glitch:

  • Join an alt account/friend account (where they are the host)
  • Keep the alt/friend in-game
  • Join for the required amount of time / complete the necessary quest
  • Leave the game (return to the lobby, still in the party)
  • Join the game
  • Leave the game
  • Repeat

More detailed steps and different methods of achieving the XP glitch with or without the quests is found below:

Create An Alt Account

The first step for this glitch to work requires players to have a friend or an alt account that they can use to host the lobby. This account can be created on a separate device, such as a mobile, other console, or PC. Once the account has been created, simply add the main account (the account that players want to get the XP on), and allow the alt account to be promoted with the crown icon, indicating that they are the host.

Method One: Have Any LEGO Fortnite Quest

For this step, it’s advised that players still have a LEGO or Fortnite Festival quest active. However, this is not necessary for the Fortnite XP glitch to work, but it does make things quicker, as each of these quests will grant 1 Level, rather than 30,000 XP, which will save players more time and grant them more XP in the long run. The XP quests they need to look for are under the Try Lego Fortnite! Quest tab:

  • Create and play in a Sandbox World
  • Build a crafting bench in a Survival World
  • Find and enter a cave in a Survival World
  • Get a village rating of 4 in a Survival World

With any of these quests, players will want the alt/friend host to load into the appropriate world. Once they have done so, players who want the XP need to make sure that they complete the quest they are following within the world, and they confirm that it has done so by seeing the quest pop up in-game. Once the quest is done, players simply need to leave the match but stay in the alt/friend’s party.

Now that the quest is complete, players must hit the options button to leave the match, and then ready up again to load in. When players load back into the world, all they need to do is leave again and repeat. Every time players leave, they will notice that they have leveled up, complete with Battle Stars and all. This is an infinite XP glitch in Fortnite that can be repeated indefinitely. However, players should be warned that after they leave the party, or the alt/friend leader has left the session, the glitch will no longer work, as the quest would have been completed. There is a second method to getting this to work. Players will need to repeat this step for all of the methods available to them.

Method Two: Have The Jam Stage Fortnite Festival Quest

If players still have the Play on the Jam Stage for 20 minutes quest found in the Try Fortnite Festival! tab, then they can complete the second of three methods for the XP glitch. All players need to do is load into Fortnite Festival’s Jam Mode, head to the Jam Stage, and play an instrument for 20 minutes. Once this time is up, players will have leveled up. Now, they need to leave and have the alt/friend remain in the session. Ready up once back in the lobby to join back in. Once players have loaded into the Jam Stage again, simply leave, rejoin, leave, rejoin, and repeat until players have achieved their desired levels. Players need to do this fast, as the glitch can sometimes kick players out of the lobby after a certain amount of level-ups.

Method Three: Jam For 15 Minutes On A Stage

The third method can be achieved with every daily reset, as players can earn 30,000 XP every 15 minutes for 3.5 hours in the Fortnite Festival mode. Join the Festival Jam Stage mode, with the alt account as the host. Once the 15 minutes are up, players need to leave the game and rejoin from the lobby. This will grant them 30,000 XP every single time that they rejoin, without having to wait an additional 15 minutes. Considering each level is 80,000 XP, players will level up every third time that they leave, and they will easily hit the max level in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 1 in no time.

Can You Get Banned For Using The XP Glitch?

Fortnite Experience Points as rewards

Many players might be worried that if they use a Fortnite XP glitch they will be banned. Confidently, players cannot be banned for finding an exploit that simply got past Epic Games, as players are not hacking or abusing a system that harms other players’ experiences. There have been many glitches over the years in Fortnite that have resulted in XP exploits, and none of them have seen players receive a ban. Especially with the number of players doing this easy Fortnite XP glitch, it’s safe to say that players will not be banned, even when it's over.

Is The XP Glitch Patched?

A recent hotfix as of December 12, has halted all attempts at the XP glitch, which has now been patched. Hopefully, players were able to use this time to unlock Peter Griffin in Fortnite before Epic Games managed to patch the glitch.
