Fortnite has grown into one of the biggest franchises in the world of gaming since the battle royale first released in 2017. The massively popular shooter joined PUBG: Battlegrounds in kickstarting a battle royale craze that would sweep the industry in the coming years with similarly popular franchises like Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, and droves of others looking to join the trend. The ubiquitous presence of Epic Games' battle royale has also led the game to see plenty of crossovers over the years with pop culture and gaming icons joining the fray.
Fortnite's many crossovers have become a staple part of the game's content updates with Epic Games frequently introducing popular celebrities, comic book and movie characters, and even other games into Fortnite. Recent collaborations have seen the battle royale introduce several characters from Marvel's recent movies including Dr. Strange and Spider-Man as well as characters from gaming staples like Assassin's Creed and League of Legends. Now, Epic Games has officially unveiled the newest collaboration coming to Fortnite with cosmetics based on the iconic Wu-Tang Clan coming to the game.
Fortnite officially announced Thursday morning that a slew of Wu-Tang Clan-themed cosmetics would be added to the game later this week. The new cosmetics will feature two new outfits with the Throwback BG and B.R.I.T.E. outfits, as well as matching back blings and pickaxe skins for each outfit. The crossover will also add an electrifying new glider with a red and yellow variant, as well as a new wrap and the "Wu-Tang is Forever" emote. The Wu-Tang Clan collaboration will hit Fortnite's shop on Saturday, April 23, at 8 PM ET.
Players will be able to purchase the two outfits and their matching back blings separately or together as part of the Wu Wear Bundle, with the bundle also including the emote as well as a stylized Wu-Tang Style loading screen. For fans looking to pick all the cosmetics offered through the Fortnite collaboration, Epic Games will also offer the Wu Wear Gear Bundle, adding in the pickaxe skins, glider, and wrap as well as an exclusive spray and banner. Alongside the collaboration, Wu-Tang Clan will also be releasing new apparel for the crossover with physical versions of the in-game outfits.
Wu-Tang Clan is the most recent in a long line of well-known musical acts to lend their likeness to Fortnite. The battle royale recently partnered with music festival Coachella to bring an array of music-themed outfits and emotes into the game, and popular artists like Travis Scott, Steve Aoki, and K-pop group BTS have lent their music to the game in the past through Fortnite's Party Royale mode. Wu-Tang Clan's introduction into Fortnite will be an exciting one for hip-hop fans of all ages as the game adds another high-profile crossover to its ranks.
