There's only one thing that Fortnite fans look forward to as much as Fortnitemares, the Halloween event, and that's the winter event. It's that time of the year again! The Fortnite Winterfest event has started and it'll be live until early January.

Just like last year, players will be able to earn free gifts for 14 straight days and they'll be available for even longer for those that don't have the chance to get them during this busy season. In this guide, Fortnite fans can learn what they can earn by participating during this time.

How Winterfest Works

winterfest lodge with all presents

As soon as the player installs v23.10 of the game and logs into Fortnite, they'll be met with a new tab: the Winterfest Lodge tab, which can be accessed by clicking the snowflake tab.

Each day that goes by gamers will have the opportunity to open a new present. In case they don't get the chance to go online, they won't miss out on any gifts; the number of presents that can be opened stacks. The lodge will remain open until January 3, 2023 at 9 AM ET, so they just have to be sure to hop in before then.

The lodge is filled with free gifts and each day players can choose which one they'd like to open. They can then grab it, shake it, and open it. There are 14 wrapped presents in total and they hold a total of 17 items inside. On top of that, it's also possible to interact with the fireplace to get an XP boost - a great way to get a few levels ahead at the start of this Battle Pass.
