Fortnite made subtle social changes to their social media account, leading keen-eyed fans to believe the game will go back in time to Season 5. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 has been a wild ride, and many fans have greatly enjoyed what the Last Resort season had to offer. This heist-themed season allowed gamers to experience the thrill of breaking into high-security strongholds and making their way through guards and bosses to steal Mythic cargo.

The Mythic items that players could collect in the stronghold vaults were all items that had been available in previous seasons but were eventually vaulted. Fortnite brought back fan-favorite weapons and items such as Midas' Drum Gun, The Foundation's MK-Seven Assault Rifle, Ocean's Bottomless Chug Jug, and several others. Somehow, Kato Thorne acquired these items and placed them inside the vaults located in his various strongholds scattered throughout the island. However, no one knows how he got access to them, as they are all items that belonged to previous Fortnite seasons.

Fortnite Update Adds New Alan Wake Experience

An exciting Fortnite update introduces a new Alan Wake experience that promises a mysterious adventure for fans of both franchises.

A recent update added a time machine to Fortnite, and the numbers 2018 07 12 were marked on it. Players immediately started speculating about what this could mean. On October 17, the official Fortnite Twitter account changed its location to these exact same numbers, emphasizing their importance. Many fans believe that the next Fortnite season will bring back the beloved OG map, and this new teaser only makes this theory seem more likely.

The numbers on the time machine represent a date, July 12, 2018, which is exactly when Chapter 1 Season 5 started. It is possible that once Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 comes to an end, the time machine will activate and take gamers back in time to the start of Season 5. Multiple props from this season also appeared in Frenzy Fields, namely the Durr Burger head with Drift spray on its tongue, the Fortnite landmark that appeared in the real world when the first Season 5 teasers came out.

It is believed that Chapter 5 will start sooner than expected, as various leakers think Fortnite chapters will renovate annually from now on. Additionally, Chapter 1 Season 5 was titled Worlds Collide, a name that completely makes sense if the time travel theory is confirmed. Another fact that contributes to this is how the two seasons would have the same numbers: Chapter 1 Season 5 and Chapter 5 Season 1. Surely more clues will be revealed in the upcoming weeks. Chapter 4 Season 4 comes to an end on November 3, so soon enough, gamers will know more about what is to come.

Fortnite is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
