Fortnite is a game that's constantly evolving, and as such, players might have missed these hidden mechanics that could see them claim Victory Royale.

Fortnite Reload is one of the most exciting features added to Fortnite with update v30.20. This article will tell players everything they need to know about Fortnite Reload.

Is Fortnite OG Back?

Fortnite Season OG Battle Pass characters

Between Chapter 4 and Chapter 5, Fortnite added a completely different season known as Season OG or Fortnite OG. This season lasted about a month, and during this time, each week players would get to revisit locations and use items from Chapter 1.

Even though it didn't require as many levels to be completed, Season OG had its own Battle Pass and exclusive skins. When Fortnite Reload was announced, many fans thought that Fortnite OG had resurfaced for another season. However, that is not the case; Fortnite Reload is its own separate mode. Gamers can still play the standard Battle Royale and Zero Build while it's live.

Is Fortnite Reload Permanent?

The Chapter 1 map is special to a major part of the Fortnite community, so it's not surprising that many fans would like to keep Fortnite Reload around for more than a few weeks.

At the moment, it is unknown if Fortnite Reload is a permanent addition to Fortnite. Just like Team Rumble, it's a big teams game mode with a capacity of 35 to 40 players, so there is a chance that it could be here to stay, especially if it gets a lot of active players within the first few days.

How to Play Fortnite Reload

Fortnite Reload is its own game mode, which means that gamers can access it through the lobby's Discover area. Since Fortnite Reload was created by Epic Games, players will be able to find it by scrolling down to the By Epic tab.

How Does Fortnite Reload Work?

Fortnite Leak Reveals New Gameplay Mechanics

Fortnite Reload is a Squads game mode; each match starts out with 40 players, 10 four-player squads. Gamers will consistently respawn as long as one of their teammates remains alive. This means that in order to fully eliminate someone, they will have to eliminate everyone in their squad before their opponents have time to respawn.

Players can play Fortnite Reload in Battle Royale or Zero Build mode.

When a player is eliminated in Fortnite Reload, they can wait to be revived or start a 30-second reboot timer start ticking immediately. If they're eliminated or choose to activate the timer, they'll return to the match once it reaches zero. The timer will increase to 40 seconds later in the game, and at some point, gamers won't be able to come back at all.

If the player's teammates knock down an opponent, the reboot timer be reduced by two seconds; if they eliminate someone, it'll be reduced by four seconds, and if an entire squad is taken out, it'll go down an extra 10 seconds.
