A Fortnite player has a unique idea for LEGO Backblings of all the skins that gamers have acquired over the years. The LEGO collaboration has resulted in an influx of players who may not have joined Fortnite otherwise, and this idea may bridge the gap with the Battle Royale mode.
There have long been rumors that LEGO and Fortnite would collaborate, and that became a reality in 2023. Fortnite's LEGO Survival and Sandbox modes have inspired numerous creations that are comparable to Minecraft builds. These include handy vehicles like cars and airships, a Star Destroyer inspired by Star Wars, and the Marvel Avenger's Tower. This LEGO game mode offers a catalog of prefabricated builds that can be expanded upon through Item Shop purchases. Each skin that players own has a LEGO Minifigure counterpart. One fan has an idea to make these Minifigures into Backblings for other game modes.
Rumor: Fortnite Fallout Collab Could Be in the Works
It seems as though Fortnite could soon announce a collaboration with popular RPG franchise Fallout, as per a reputed leaker.
Reddit user Starwa7 recently shared an image highlighting their concept for LEGO Fortnite Minifigure Backblings. The gamer points to the interest that many gamers have in the LEGO Minifigures that don't play the crossover game modes. With a portion of the community disconnected from the Minifigures, the Reddit user proposes that they be Backblings in the Locker for other game modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build. As players automatically received Minifigures of their existing skins when the collaboration started, many players would have a wide selection to choose from.
How Would Epic Turn the Minifigures Into Backblings?
With each new skin added to the Fortnite Item Shop is a LEGO Minifigure that can be used in the LEGO game modes. Skins that have been released since the collaboration began include The Guardians of the Galaxy, Birds of a Feather set, and the fresh addition of Lady Gaga. Ahead of the crossover, developers ensured that the vast majority of the skins that players had collected could be equipped in the LEGO modes. This Backbling idea may require some effort, but the Minifigures have already been created, potentially making it easy to transition them into being equipable items.
As most of the LEGO Minifigures already share the same proportions, developers might be able to apply different textures to the same Backbling model. This is the case with the existing Skateboard Backbling which allows players to change its design while remaining the same object. Epic Games continues to update Fortnite with new Seasons, features, and cosmetics, but it's unclear if it will implement so many variations of a LEGO Minifigure Backbling.
