A few years ago, Fortnite added gold bars as a Battle Royale resource. Players can collect gold in-game by eliminating enemies, opening cash registers, breaking down gold bar stacks, and opening safes and chests. They can hold a maximum of 5,000 bars in their inventory before they reach the cap and are unable to collect more. To avoid this, they must spend their gold.

Players can now apply mods to vehicles in Chapter 5 Season 3 - here's how to do it and what's at their disposal.

Chapter 5 Season 1 added weapon modifications to Fortnite and they remain available today. This season, modifications became available for vehicles as well. While some weapons already have plenty of mods when players find them, they can freely add, remove, and change them as they please, as long as they have enough gold to do so. This guide will tell players everything they need to know about weapon mods in Fortnite, including where to find Mod Benches on the map and which mods they can apply to their weapons.

Mod Bench Locations

Mods are a great way to increase a weapon's viability in-game so players should know where they can to apply them. In Chapter 5 Season 3, Mod Benches are located inside Weapon Bunkers and in the basement of the floating Loot Island.

Although there are 10 possible Mod Bench locations in Fortnite, not all of them will be accessible. There are nine Weapon Bunkers on the island, but only six of them will open once the third Storm Circle forms, the others will be locked up with chains. The Mod Bench on the floating island will always be accessible. However, it only spawns late into the game. In total, gamers can access a maximum of seven Mod Benches per match.

Here is where Mod Benches can spawn in Fortnite:

  • Southwest of The Underworld
  • South of Charon's Crossing
  • North of Piney Pumps
  • East of Lavish Lair
  • Northwest of Rescue Station
  • South of Dumpenhausen
  • Pantheon Path
  • The Wreckmill
  • South of Pleasant Piazza
  • Loot Island (guaranteed spawn)

All Mod Benches will be accessible once the third Storm Circle is formed except for the Loot Island Mod Bench, which will only be available after the fourth Storm Circle starts closing.

Available Mod Bench Modifications

The Weapon Mod Bench has four mod categories: optic mods, magazine mods, underbarrel mods, and barrel mods. Players can navigate through them and decide which one fits their needs. It costs 75 gold to equip a mod.

Except for Common Weapons, Fortnite weapons will immediately spawn with one or several mods. Thankfully, it doesn't cost a dime to remove mods from a weapon. This means that if gamers find a weapon that they enjoy with a mod that they dislike, they can get rid of it for free and then apply another mod for only 75 gold bars.

Here are all the weapon mods available on the Mod Bench in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3:
