Marvel's Master of Magnetism, Magneto, joins Fortnite's Battle Royale in Chapter 5 Season 3, providing the wasteland with a new Mutant leader.

As always, a new collab item can provide wonderful experimentation and gameplay to shake up the Fortnite meta, especially when the current Battle Royale scene is so dominated by vehicular slaughter and mayhem, so here's exactly how players can get their hands on the strong Magneto Mythic in Fortnite.

How To Get Magneto Power

There is a guaranteed way to get Magneto Power in Fortnite, and that requires players to head to Brawler's Battleground and purchase the Magneto Power from Wastelander Magneto for 400 Gold. Other than that, players might get lucky enough to find this item on the floor as random loot, or in chests, but the RNG can be unreliable. Purchasing from Wastelander Magneto will be the only promised way, but he only ever has one in stock, so players might rush to this location for his grand power.

What Does Magneto Power Do?

Magneto Power exists as a utility item that can greatly improve how the game is played. This grand power gives players 5 charges, each of which will refresh after 8 seconds. With the Magneto Power item equipped, players are immune to fall damage, and they have a low-gravity effect when they jump and fall.

Hitting R2/RT/Left Click, players will fire a ball of metal toward wherever their reticle is aiming. The speed of this object is immense, and players can fire it repeatedly with 5 charges for great effect, with infinite ammo. The range is also seemingly infinite, but players will have to angle their shots to compensate for the drop. Here are the damage numbers this weapon can deal:

  • 415 damage to vehicles
  • 95 damage against opponents

With L2/LT/Right Click, players can summon a metallic shield in front of their character to block incoming damage. This shield is fairly weak, and the purple brackets around the reticle help to show the durability of the shield. Players can replenish their shield by letting go of the Block button.

Currently, using Nitro Splash with Magneto Power provides players with a great speed boost in the air when attacking, much like they are skating.
