Players and developers alike have been able to create numerous game types in Fortnite through its Unreal Editor. From classics like Prop Hunt to the relatively new Lumberjack Heroes, the Unreal Editor has allowed Fortnite’s own player base to exponentially broaden Fortnite’s possibilities beyond its battle royale and zombie tower defense roots.

One such innovation in Fortnite is The LEGO Group’s official LEGO Smoothie Odyssey game mode.

Earning as much XP as possible in LEGO Fortnite can rapidly boost levels in the Fortnite Battle Pass, so be sure to take note of these helpful tips.

A New Galactic LEGO Island

LEGO Smoothie Odyssey is the latest game mode in LEGO Islands created by The LEGO Group with the Unreal Editor. Smoothie Odyssey is the sixth LEGO Islands game mode created by the group since LEGOFortnite first debuted in late 2023. This was also the game mode that introduced the LEGO Space theme to Fortnite with both LEGO Obby Fun and LEGO Prop Hunt receiving new space-themed updates and features. The previous LEGO Islands include:

  • LEGO Battle Arena
  • LEGO Obby Fun
  • LEGO Prop Hunt
  • LEGO Raft Survival
  • LEGO Wing Walkers

When players first embark on LEGO Smoothie Odyssey on their spaceship, they and a small group of friends will be sent to a colorful planet to look for mutant, alien smoothie berries. Once berries are collected, players can return to their landing area and mix them into a smoothie via a small LEGO blender. However, this is not a desolate LEGO planet. It’s inhabited by tiny, jellyfish-like green aliens who will try players’ smoothies once blended.

The aliens will react to and change color depending on the recipe of the smoothie they drink. Players can mix a bunch of the same berry or mix or match them to discover new smoothies. For instance, if players mix a smoothie with just a blue water berry, they will create the Water Cooler smoothie recipe and cause an alien to turn blue. In comparison, if players mix a pink butter berry and a red spice berry, they will create the Butter n Spice smoothie recipe and cause an alien to turn red and breathe fire briefly.

LEGO Smoothie Odyssey Side Activities

Once enough smoothies are mixed, crates containing new items will be unlocked and dropped at base camp. These contain objects to make base camp more operational, such as a crustal campfire with four seats and a mapping drone. Crystal campfires can be found throughout the planet and be used to teleport back to base camp in a pinch. Mapping drones provide players with a bird’s eye view of a local area. Each smoothie recipe provides varying amounts of points that can lead toward the next crate drop.

Besides berry collecting and smoothie mixing, players may encounter several LEGO astronauts throughout the planet. Players can speak with them to learn more about them, the planet, and the aliens. They may also find small trinkets, such as a dog figurine that will reappear at base camp.

The LEGO Smoothie Odyssey planet features seven unique biomes, including The Void, Crystal Caves, Lumina Forest, Hot Springs, Luna Lagoon, Lower Meadows, and Star Peak Mountain. Certain types of berries can be found easily in each biome, such as the plum berry being easily found on Star Peak Mountain. Players will have to travel to each biome in order to gather every berry type and create every smoothie recipe.

Each biome features unique ways to navigate through them beyond simply sprinting and jumping around. For instance, the Hot Springs features pink, bubbling geysers that will launch players high into the air if jumped on. Both the Luna Lagoon and Star Peak Mountain feature small rivers and reverse waterfalls that players can swim through. Star Peak Mountain features twisting rails that players can slide on to scale up or down the mountain. The Void has low gravity, allowing for players to jump greater distances than they normally would be able to. However, this low gravity can cause players to fall off the planet if they jump with poor accuracy.

Multiple players can embark on the LEGO Smoothie Odyssey planet at a time to create some of LEGO’s most popular fruit beverages. Together, they can traverse every inch of the planet and help quench the aliens’ endless smoothie thirst. While there are only six LEGO Islands currently available, LEGO Smoothie Odyssey continues to show the endless potential that crossovers between Fortnite and LEGO can produce.
