Fortnite Leak Reveals Another Metal Gear Character

A Fortnite dataminer found images of another Metal Gear character, Raiden, who will likely be coming to the game soon. Fortnite's crossover with the Metal Gear franchise is the battle royale's latest collaboration.

Fortnite recently introduced Metal Gear's Solid Snake character as an unlockable skin for those who purchased this season's battle pass. The skin was made available on January 23rd and can be unlocked in exchange for completing a set of challenges. As part of the skin's reward track, players can also unlock an Old Snake style variant, glider, back bling, harvesting tool, and more, all of which are themed around Solid Snake and are available until March 8th. While this was already exciting news for Metal Gear fans who enjoy Fortnite, fans just got even more exciting news regarding another popular character.

Rumor: Fortnite Leaker Claims OG Map Could Be Returning Soon

A Fortnite leaker finds evidence that the popular 'OG' map could be returning soon, following Season OG's massive popularity in November.

Fortnite dataminer Hypex found images that show Metal Gear's Raiden along with a themed weapon wrap and what appears to be a back bling and harvesting tool. The skin shows Raiden in black and silver tactical garb and comes in two styles. One style shows Raiden without a mask on, while the other shows Raiden in his Metal Gear Solid 2 mask, which sports a menacing look. It's not yet known if the Raiden skin will be added to Fortnite's Item shop or added as an additional skin for battle pass owners to unlock. It's also not yet known when the Raiden skin will be made available, but this will likely occur sometime before Chapter 5: Season 1's conclusion on March 8th.

Raiden is a secondary protagonist within the Metal Gear franchise who starred as the main character in Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Although his initial introduction was somewhat controversial, Raiden has since become a fan-favorite character among Metal Gear fans.

Metal Gear fans have enjoyed other compelling news recently, like rumors that the original Metal Gear Solid is being remade by Konami. According to leaks, this remake will be of a similar scale to the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, which is confirmed to feature a graphics and audio overhaul.

The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, which is titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, previously revealed its gameplay which showcased the game's major graphical upgrades. It's slated for a release sometime in 2024, after which Konami will focus on the original Metal Gear Solid's remake, if leaks are to be believed.
