Highlights

  • Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite features an apocalyptic "Wrecked" theme with Mad Max-inspired vehicles and skins.
  • Vaulted items like frenzy auto shotgun and Olympian bosses are replaced with new items and bosses in the latest season.
  • Possible items getting unvaulted in Fortnite include the impulse grenade, rift-to-go, and dynamite.

A recent leak reveals that several vaulted items may be coming back to Fortnite. Fortnite has just started its third season of Chapter 5, called "Wrecked." The theme is apocalyptic in nature, with some Mad Max-inspired vehicles and skins. This season also includes a “Nitro Dome” location, where players can battle it out in an arena. Chapter 5 Season 3 started with a Fallout collaboration, including Power Armor skins and a new Nuka Cola item.

With every new Fortnite season, some items are vaulted, unvaulted, or introduced. The vaulted items for Chapter 5 Season 3 include the frenzy auto shotgun, waterbending, flowberries, and more. Olympian bosses were also removed to make room for the new bosses brought about by the sandstorm, which was shown at the end of Chapter 5 Season 2. Their medallions have also been replaced with versions for each new boss, which can give buffs to the new nitro mechanic, infinite ammo, and other effects.

Rumor: Fortnite Rocket Racing Could Be Getting a Big Change in the Future

Fortnite is considering a major change to come for its Psyonix-developed Rocket Racing spinoff, one that has appeared in other Epic Games titles.

A recent tweet from Fortnite leaker HYPEX on Twitter revealed several items that may be unvaulted soon. These include the impulse grenade, rift-to-go, and med mist, which may be another Mad Max reference. HYPEX goes on to mention that all of these items are subject to change. The rift-to-go and impulse grenade allow players to quickly leave a sticky situation. Many players on foot have been having trouble dealing with the new vehicle mods in Fortnite, and these items may make it easier to run from a losing battle.

  • Rift-To-Go
  • Dynamite
  • Mini Crash Pad
  • Med Mist
  • Lock On Pistol

In addition, a new heavy sniper was leaked on May 27, with footage from HYPEX on Twitter. It deals 3x damage to vehicles, but the rest of the stats are unknown at this time. Beyond this, vehicles have been a huge part of Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3. Some players have complained about how powerful vehicles have become in Fortnite, while others have been finding ways to adapt. There are two new weapons this season that are pretty good at disabling vehicles: the boom bolt crossbow and the nitro fist weapon. More options to deal with vehicles may be coming with dynamite and the new heavy sniper that’s possibly coming to the game soon.

Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite has a lot of content coming, with a rumored Lethal Company collaboration in the next few weeks. This would mark another indie game that has collaborated with Fortnite since Among Us, with more possibly in the future. Fans of Lethal Company and Fortnite are eagerly awaiting an official announcement, as Fortnite continues to collaborate with dozens of franchises.
