There have been a lot of memorable limited-time game modes that have come to Fortnite. However, one of the standouts was definitely the Infinity Gauntlet mode in 2018 that tied in with the release of Avengers Infinity War. The mode had players fight to gain access to the Infinity Gauntlet from the movie which, when obtained, transformed the player into Thanos, granting them new powers not previously seen in the game. It was a fantastic game mode that many players have been hoping will come back, but one character deserves an limited-time mode just like Thanos: Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village.

The Resident Evil series has had quite the year, with the well-received Resident Evil Village releasing in May, the announcement of RE8 DLC during E3 2021, and the upcoming November release of the film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. It's safe to say that excitement surrounding the series is potentially at an all-time high, and a game mode crossover with Fortnite featuring Lady Dimitrescu would make for one of the best limited-time game modes in the battle royale's history.

Lady Dimitrescu's Viral Popularity

It's pretty easy to understand why putting Lady Dimitrescu in Fortnite would be a popular move. The character was met with viral popularity when she was first introduced during Resident Evil Village's marketing period, quickly rising to meme status. Fans were disappointed when they discovered that her role in the final version of the game was smaller than the marketing made it seem, but based on how overwhelmingly popular she became, Lady Dimitrescu was still one of the most memorable parts of the game.

Epic Games is clearly interested in adding Resident Evil characters in Fortnite, as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine were added to the game last week, so it doesn't seem like that much of a stretch to ask for Lady Dimitrescu to be added as well. Her giant size, however, doesn't allow her to fit into the Fortnite "mold" of typical characters, but it does make her perfect for an experience similar to the Infinity Gauntlet mode that had players taking control of the similarly giant Thanos.

Adding More Fun Game Modes To Fortnite

Over the years following its release, there have been plenty of interesting limited-time game modes for fans of Fortnite to try out while taking a break from the battle royale, which itself was planned to be a limited-time mode before taking the world by storm. A mode featuring Lady Dim, however, could change the formula to allow for new ways to play the game while also paying tribute to the Resident Evil series as a whole. The mode could have one player control the giant vampire while they search a Fortnite-style Castle Dimitrescu as a handful of other, regular players work together to find limited supplies and weapons to fight back.

Like with Thanos, Lady Dim could have several different unique powers that correlate to those seen in RE8, while also having notably higher health and shields than regular players. This sort of survival mode is also in line with some of the original ideas for Fortnite before it became the battle royale that it is today. It also works tonally with the addition of Chris and Jill and other horror characters like Ripley, Hopper, and Rick Grimes. There are plenty of other ways for Lady Dimitrescu to be included in the game, but one way or another, she'd be a well-received addition due to her online popularity and the many different directions that Epic Games could take her character for a limited-time game mode.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
