How to Use Turbo in Fortnite Rocket Racing

To use Turbo, press the associated Turbo keybind on your gaming platform. If you’re playing on PC, it’s the “left click” on your keyboard; if you’re playing on PlayStation, it’s the triangle; and on Xbox, it’s Y. If these don’t work, navigate to your in-game settings to check the Turbo keybind. You can change the preference to the key you’re comfortable using.

The Turbo feature only works if the on-screen meter is full. This meter fills up over time as players navigate the obstacles and jump on the race track. Once you activate it, it only boosts your vehicle for a short time, so it's vital to use it tactfully to overtake your opponents. If you’ve already used it, an easy way to ensure the meter fills up quickly is to drift to make tight turns and fly or flip.

It’s advisable to use Turbo on a straight track to help your vehicle remain stable. If you use it on curvy or bumpy tracks, you’ll have to maneuver, drift, and turn, which reduces the boost speed, defeating the purpose of the turbo boost. The best time to use the turbo is after exiting a corner so you can accelerate quicker and overtake other racers.

If you want an additional key bind, press the Turbo keybind several times when the meter is full. Doing so gives you an added oomph in addition to the boosted speed. You can use the turbo feature several times during a game, and there’s no penalty for missing it. However, players should activate turbo throughout a race to stay on top.
