Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is finally here, and there are plenty of new gameplay changes for players to play around with. Luckily, as soon as players touch down on the revamped Fortnite map in a battle royale match, they'll get to partake in some tutorial quests that are located in the Boot Camp section of the Quests Tab in the menu.

Players will need to sprint, mantle, and slide, to earn some XP towards unlocking new items and cosmetics for this season's Marvel-packed Battle Pass. This helpful guide will go over how to complete the sprinting Boot Camp, and the other two. Many players seem to be having issues using the new sprint mechanic, so the details below will help folks out.

Fortnite: How to Sprint

Once players touch down on the map, they'll be tasked with an urgent quest, asking them to perform a five-second sprint. The game will prompt players by showing a message in the top-left corner, and if it says "press UNBOUND when running to sprint," then players will need to head into the settings from the menu to assign the sprint mechanic to a key/controller button.

When players assign a button to the sprint, just run for a few seconds for the quest to be completed. The white bar above the players' shield/health bar will show how much stamina is left for sprinting.

How to Mantle

The next step of the Boot Camp questline has players mantling onto ledges at least three times. This is new to Fortnite and can help players reach higher places. Since building is gone from the season for a few days, players can't rely on creating structures and will need to use this mechanic instead. To mantle, players need to start sprinting, and then jump and hold the jump button to grab a nearby ledge, pulling players up.

How to Slide

And for the third part of the urgent questline, Fortnite players will need to slide for at least 20 meters. It's worth noting that players don't have to do all 20 meters in one continuous slide --they can do it in small increments. While players are sprinting, they can press the left bumper (or assigned key) to start sliding.

Fortnite is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
