Enemy players aren't the only danger Fortnite players have to face when playing; they also have to worry about the dangerous storm that continuously grows as the match progresses. Over the years, the Fortnite community has increasingly acknowledged how important mobility items can be.

The classic Grappler has once again been unvaulted, so players should know where they can find it if they ever need it or if they'd like to use it to fill one of their inventory slots. This guide will tell players everything about the Grappler in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, including where to find it and how to use it.

How to Get the Grappler

Besides vehicles, Chapter 5 Season 1 doesn't have that many mobility items. Epic Games added the Icy Grappler for Winterfest, but it was only available for a couple of days before it was vaulted due to a glitch. To keep at least one mobility item in the game, the Icy Grappler was replaced by its normal counterpart, the Grappler.

Players can find the Grappler in Fortnite as floor loot or inside chest containers. The Grappler is an Epic-rarity item, so players will be more likely to find it in chests than on the ground. According to Epic Games, it will be available until the end of the Winterfest event.

How to Use the Grappler

The number of charges available in the Grappler has been inconsistent since it was first released back in Chapter 1 Season 5. At the moment, the Grappler has a total of ten charges, so gamers can use it ten times before it's removed from their inventory. Players who have a long trek ahead of them before the next Storm Circle starts closing might want to leave an additional inventory space free so that they can grab an extra Grappler.

To use the Grappler, gamers must aim at a nearby surface and then shoot the plunger so that it latches on and brings them closer to it. Unlike the now-vaulted Grapple Glove, players won't swing from place to place - the grappler simply pulls them forward.
