Every Season Of Fortnite, Ranked

Fortnite is one of the most popular games and part of this is due to the game reinvigorating itself with season updates.

Now that Chapter 5 Season 1 is here, many of these features have returned, and fans who came back to Fortnite thanks to Season OG might not be familiar with certain aspects of the game just yet. This guide will tell players everything they need to know about Hot Spots in Fortnite, a feature returned to the game after The Big Bang event.

Updated on December 29, 2023, by Ashely Claudino: This guide has been republished with updated information on Chapter 5's Supply Drones.

What Are Hot Spots?

At the start of the match, everyone has the habit of opening the map so that they can look at the Battle Bus trajectory and decide which location on the map is the best for a first landing; some of the named locations on the map will appear in gold rather than the usual white lettering.

The named locations written in gold are considered Hot Spots during the match. This means that until the end of the match supply drones will be flying over these Hot Spot areas, and they can be shot down and will burst with useful loot. It can be risky to go to a Hot Spot since it's more likely that opponent players will also go there to increase their chances of getting good early-game loot and get an advantage over other players.

Supply Drone Loot

Supply Drones have some pretty decent loot, which can always come in handy in a tough situation. When players shoot down a Supply Drone, they can expect a weapon and a healing item to pop out of it. Even though it might not seem like much, it can be quite useful at the start of a match, especially if the Hot Shop you landed at is riddled with enemy players.

If gamers find themselves low on shields, they might want to shoot a drone and try their look, especially if they're close to a Hot Spot - it can actually make it easier to heal up compared to trying nearby chests.
