Fortnite has announced a collaboration with Futurama, and gamers are excited to learn more about what is to come. It's not uncommon for companies to team up and for certain products or brands to be promoted elsewhere. Fortnite is a game where this has nearly always been a reality. Several known characters have appeared in the popular battle royale game, and it has even made it possible for unlikely franchises to join forces and allow their characters to be on-screen with supposed rivals; this is the case with Sony's Kratos and Xbox's Master Chief.

Leaks have been teasing the addition of Family Guy's Peter Griffin and his infamous chicken rival to Fortnite. It is unknown if this is a prank on Epic's part or if it will eventually happen, but some fans of the adult cartoon have been anticipating this collab for a while now. It seems that it won't be added to this upcoming update just yet, but characters from another popular adult cartoon show might be coming to Fortnite soon.

The official Fortnite Twitter account announced a collaboration with Futurama with an unexpectedly short tweet. The tweet included a link to a video premiering on YouTube on July 26 at 6 AM ET, and it only said "All Hail Hypnotoad." It also featured a short video of the Planet Express ship from Futurama crashing into a huge animated billboard with a clip of Hypnotoad itself.

Update v25.20 was supposed to be released on Tuesday, July 25, just like most Fortnite updates, but it was mysteriously delayed. As a consequence of this delay, the Duos Cash Cup, which was supposed to happen on Wednesday, had to be pushed forward to Tuesday to avoid gamers having to deal with downtime while competing. It is still unknown why Epic Games decided to delay the update, but it might be due to some last-minute preparation related to this collab.

Soon enough, gamers will learn more about what is to come. The video will go live in the early hours of July 26 to reveal what the Futurama collab will be all about. Since there is an announcement tweet, it is likely that it will be a big event, especially considering that the Fortnite Summer Escape event is over after two long weeks of celebrating. Players can expect some Futurama-themed skins, perhaps even a change to the big screen in Mega City, and maybe some futuristic space weapons.

Fortnite is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
