A recent Fortnite Festival leak reveals that a long-requested feature for the rhythm game spinoff may finally be implemented in an upcoming update. Released as one of multiple expansions of the Epic Games battle royale, Festival takes inspiration from iconic rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Fortnite Festival has featured more than 180 songs for players to unlock, available both through the in-game Item Shop and the frequent Festival Passes. Now, Fortnite Festival is getting a nice quality-of-life feature in a future update.

Along with its litany of songs, developer Harmonix has done plenty of work with the Fortnite spinoff to evoke the feeling of the Rock Band series. Peripheral developer PDP revealed earlier this year that it would be developing a guitar controller for Fortnite Festival, bringing the plastic peripherals back for the first time since 2015. Fortnite Festival has also featured multiple different seasons and Festival Passes, giving fans the chance to pick up exclusive cosmetics and songs. Fortnite Festival's lobby is now said to be one of the next areas getting an upgrade.

Fortnite Festival Plastic Guitar Controller Revealed

Fortnite Festival is getting a Rock Band-like guitar controller later this year, calling back to the old note-matching music games of the 2010s.

As reported by Dexerto, a leak from prominent Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has revealed a major upgrade in the near future. Fortnite Festival is reportedly set to finally introduce the ability to select different Jam Tracks as lobby music for the spinoff, letting users listen to their favorite Fortnite Festival songs in the game's menu. The update comes after players had already been able to play Fortnite Festival's lobby music as Jam Tracks, with many suggesting the feature should go both ways. A launch date for the lobby music upgrade was not confirmed with the leak.

Fortnite Festival Reveals Major Lobby Quality-of-Life Upgrade

The addition of Fortnite Festival's Jam Tracks as lobby music will make the game's wide array of musical genres available in its menus. Festival has added everything from pop music like Lady Gaga and LMFAO to metal bands like Disturbed and Slipknot as part of its song lineup. Epic Games even recently added the iconic "Cantina Band" music from Star Wars last month during the game's "May the Fourth" event. No confirmation was given about whether every song featured in Fortnite Festival will be immediately available as lobby music.

The new update to Fortnite Festival joins plenty of new content on the way across Fortnite's multiple spinoffs. The Psyonix-developed Rocket Racing is heavily rumored to be getting a battle pass, with the racing game being the only Fortnite property to not feature a battle pass. LEGO Fortnite also recently saw two new islands added to the game, with "LEGO Wing Walkers" and "LEGO Smoothie Odyssey." The update to lobby music for Fortnite Festival looks to let fans listen to their favorite in-game songs even more.
