Fortnite isn't a game that is well known for its story mode, especially since the main part people play is the battle royale mode. Situations like these usually lead fans to create theories from clues scattered throughout the code of the game, the game's map, and even in the description of the skins of the game. Fortnite is no exception to this rule.

Fans have made some interesting theories about the game, but some of them are better than others. Some of these theories, if true, would be great additions to the game and its lore, while others would probably just take away from the experience and maybe even make the game less enjoyable.

10 We Hope Are: Fortnite Takes Place On Venus

This theory says that the events of Fortnite Battle Royale do not take place on some island on earth but in fact take place very, very far away from our little blue dot. Most fans think that this is likely but they aren't sure where the Battle Royale would be located otherwise. Fans seem to have come to the conclusion that the game takes place on Venus due to landmasses seen on the planet from space and the acid rain in the storm that is common on Venus.

9 We Hope Aren't: Alternate Universe

Fortnite season 10 ended with a bang, literally. A series of rockets crashed into the center of the map and the explosion was so powerful that it caused a black hole. This caused the famous blackout of Fortnite that happened before the start of Fortnite Chapter 2. These events have some fans believing that the entire Fortnite universe, or the latest area where the game takes place, was sucked into an alternate universe similar to the other one, through the black hole.

8 We Hope Are: Dinosaurs?

Who doesn't like dinosaurs? While they would probably be a bit annoying to have in real life with all of the sharp teeth and carnivorous tendencies that some of the more famous ones have, in video games they are great.

Between Snobby Shores and Greasy Grove lies a destroyed house that appears to be done in by a single giant footprint, leading fans to think that there might be some dinosaurs hidden somewhere outside the map that we can't find.

7 We Hope Aren't: It's All A Movie

Having the entire game of Fortnite just be a movie or some kind of scripted entertainment would be a bit of a let down as it is usually badly done and takes away any meaning that some players get from playing the game. Fans think that Fortnite might be a movie due to some of the locations that you find in the game's map that are set up like movie studios. This includes a location near the villain's hideout that has many cameras, as well as a setup near Moisty Mire.

6 We Hope Are: The Seven

The Visitor first arrived in Fortnite: Battle Royale in Season 4, crashing into the map within a metal capsule in a meteor. We got more information on the visitor with the release of The Scientist. The Scientist’s (Codenamed: Visitor Volta) description reads “His mission is unknown. One of The Seven,”

Players then noticed that after the release of The Scientist, The Visitor's description changed to “Intentions unknown. One of The Seven.” leading players to think we are going to get to see more members in the future.

5 We Hope Aren't: Teddy Bears Are Evil

There are numerous locations throughout the Fortnite that contain some fairly creepy easter eggs. This easter egg comes to us in the form of a teddy bear that can be found in numerous locations across the map, typically found in a seat of some kind, usually in a car, or tractor, or some other kind of vehicle. On its own, that would be fine but the thing is that after looking at these bears for just a few seconds they disappear and no one can come up with any reason why.

4 We Hope Are: King Midas Theory

The release of the Oro skin this past March, which is clearly based on the story of King Midas and his obsession with gold, fans have begun to speculate that Fortnite will start to have more influence from old greek mythology. The lead up to the release of the Oro skin had many different easter eggs to tease the arrival of the skin. This has lead fans to speculate that Fortnite would be getting more skins related to ancient Greece as well as maybe some elements that affect gameplay like weapons.

3 We Hope Aren't: Flooding

Recent leaks suggest due to the recent addition of the Device and all of the events surrounding it, fans have started to believe that the current map we have in Fortnite will become flooded. this comes from players noticing a massive wall of water surrounding the current map when they are about to drop in. This leads people to think that certain portions or maybe all of the map will be flooded to an extent, which, while it sounds cool, could badly affect gameplay.

2 We Hope Are: True Villian Omen

When the Omen skin was released back in season 4 as the male counterpart to the Fate skin, he was instantly interesting to fans. Aside from having a pretty cool design overall, fans thought that this character would become the true villain of the Battle Royale mode's story. Many fans believe that Omega is the true villain due to the character's prominence in promotional material but with the more sleek design that Omen has, as well as a symbolic name, he might be a better fit.

1 We Hope Aren't: Jonesy Is The CEO Of The Simulation

Jonesy is kind of like a mascot for Fornite at this point, which is saying something considering all of the unique and eye-catching designs that the Fortnite world has, including actual superheroes. Recently fans have noticed that the Agent Jonesy skin has some secrets to hide. Jonesy is actually a member of a secret organization that created the device and that he might actually be in charge of the battle royale, which is a simulation.
