A fan of both Elden Ring and Fortnite has recreated Rykard in Fortnite’s creative mode. In a similar vein to Roblox or Minecraft, creative mode allows players to design Fortnite games and experiences that can be published and shared with friends online.

The game mode has been available since 2018 and has been generally well received since launch, allowing players to express a lot more creativity in the Fortnite universe. Those players have previously made tons of homages to other popular games or genres, and there’s some great Fortnite creative mode maps to play with friends that use these themes. With fans taking on projects to match their other favorite games and franchises, it’s no surprise that the ever popular Elden Ring would soon join the plethora of content being made on the platform.

Rykard may be better known as the horrific giant snake monster with a human face that is obsessed with eating things to gain their power. Also famous for his pronunciation of “together” when shouting at the player, Rykard is a grotesque beast that could be considered quite typical for From Software design. One fan has recreated Rykard in NES pixel art, matching an early-era horror title quite well. The design doesn’t quite match Fortnite’s cleaner and more friendly image, but now Reddit user MrEIectric has proven that it’s possible to make a near-identical match in Fortnite.

MrEIectric has recreated Rykard, as well as the boss’s lighting, with meticulous detail. Fellow fans commented to say that the recreation was simply stunning, praising both the creator and Epic, for the effort put in and the creative mode, respectively. Fans noted that with the latest update to creative mode, the possibilities make it rival entry level game design software, with the ability to recreate games such as Rocket League pretty much in their entirety. Fans have also taken the chance to recreate the original Fortnite map from 2017, replete with the original weapons.

MrEIectric has carved out a niche for their design, having previously recreated Malenia in Fortnite creative mode, as well as Starscourge Radahn. Some other users commented to request MrEIectric make more Elden Ring characters such as Ranni, while others still made jokes such as wanting to see Rykard in Fort Haight. While these high detail character models are not as functional as game maps or full game homages, they do help to show that with passion, creativity, and talent, fans can produce content to rival official releases.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
