Fortnite Battle Royale has many millions of players meaning that there is fierce competition in the fight to be the very best player. That doesn't stop people from trying to set new records though, and one determined Battle Royale duo has now set the bar a bit higher.

Over the weekend a Fortnite Battle Royale duo made up of NinjasHyper (Ninja) and KingRichard, two players famous in the Fortnite BR community, managed to set a new world record for the number of kills as a duo. In the clip from the Twitch livestream below (be warned: it does including yelling and a lot of profanity), Ninja can be seen securing some impressive kills in order to secure a Victory Royale.

By the match's end, Ninja had secured 21 kills and KingRichard had gotten 15. With 36 kills altogether, it means that the duo has successfully set a new world record, beating the previous record in duos by just one, single kill.

Fortnite Battle Royale fans have been quick to congratulate the duo on their world record holding status. Ninja and KingRichard have reportedly been practicing hard and streaming their efforts on Twitch. The skill displayed in previous streams had people convinced that they would break the record sooner rather than later and now they've proved their supporters right. The record just proves that the two players are one of the best duos in the game, say many Fortnite fans.

A fair few fans are also convinced that Ninja and KingRichard will be able to blast through their current world record and get even more kills. The two players are clearly very committed and are obviously very good at the game, and many fans don't see why they couldn't get 37 kills or more. The Fortnite community seems to be buzzing at the possibility of an even higher world record setting-level of kills.

The enthusiasm and interest surrounding the record - and the commitment to beating the record and being the first - is one reason why Fortnite Battle Royale has become the success that it has. Whether it's Victory Royales with no kills or spontaneous parties with the Boogie Bomb, Fortnite BR offers a lot of surprising, emergent moments that keep players coming back for more. While developer Epic Games has provided players with all of the tools, players are using those gameplay features to make their own fun, and clearly, that is paying off.

Fortnite Battle Royale is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
