After collecting Cube Monster Parts for part four of Sledgehammer's Punchcard quests in Fortnite, players will advance to the next stage. Now, players will need to defeat a Boss Cube Monster in The Sideways and that's easier said than done. By using this short guide, fans can find out how to get to The Sideways and how to find one of the bosses to take down.

How to Enter The Sideways

For Fortnite fans that aren't sure how to enter The Sideways or one of the anomalies, it's pretty simple. The locations will change for every match, so they won't be in the same spot all of the time. The anomalies are depicted on the map as these tiny glowing purple spots, and there are also large red-colored circles on the map, and those can also get players into The Sideways. Inside of these zones are powerful cube monsters as well as rare loot like the Sideways Scythe.

How to Defeat Boss Cube Monster

Once players make it into The Sideways, they will have to withstand the attacks from the surrounding cube monsters (and other players). Eventually, players will end up face to face with a boss monster, such as a Mythic Brute or the Cube Assassin. Players will be able to tell that they're fighting a boss monster since they will have a health bar and sometimes even a full shield to bring down. If players have yet to defeat the Cube Assassin, they'll be rewarded with a new Cube Assassin style for the Toona Fish outfit for doing so.

If the boss doesn't appear after hanging out in The Sideways, Fortnite players should find a different one and try it out again. Sometimes the bosses won't come out to play, unfortunately, so completing this quest will take some players a good chunk of time. Luckily, XP will be rewarded upon the quest's completion, and players should get as much as they can before the Season 8 Battle Pass comes to a close soon.

There have been some reports of a bug making players unable to complete the quest, even if they have defeated a boss monster in the Sideways. On the other hand, sometimes, the quest objective will be marked as complete for players that simply defeat the basic cube monsters. Either way, hopefully, Epic Games fixes the bug, and all players can earn their XP for putting time into the challenge.

Fortnite is currently free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
