Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is set to begin very shortly. In fact, it's starting in just over a week's time on December 2nd. And after it was previously leaked earlier this month, Epic Games itself has confirmed that Season 5 will introduce a brand-new subscription service called Fortnite Crew.

Fortnite's new service will be available to all players and charge $11.99 every month. As for what it includes, it comes with the Battle Pass for the full season, but it also contains exclusive content that will be gifted to subscribers every month.

Specifically, Fortnite Crew members will receive 1000 V-Bucks every month to spend at the in-game shop and something called a Crew Pack, which will always come with a brand-new Outfit Bundle. Epic describes these bundles as something only Crew members will get, confirming that they won't ever be made available in at any point for non-subscribers, via the in-game store or otherwise.

Epic has even shown off the first of these exclusive outfits, called Galaxia, which will also come with a Cosmic Llamacorn Pickaxe and Fractured World Back Bling.

Given the outfit's cosmic aesthetic, it's possible that it's connected to the Season 4 finale event, which will see Galactus finally descend into Fortnite's map to wrap up the Marvel-themed season. The event will take place on December 1st, though it's still not clear yet exactly what Galactus will do when he arrives.

According to Epic's FAQ, subscriptions will be locked to the platform players use to purchase one and can't be shared for transferred between platforms. So, for example, if a player subscribes via the PlayStation 4 version, it doesn't apply to their Xbox One version.

Epic adds that if a player has already purchased the Battle Pass and then gets a Crew subscription, they will receive 950 V-Bucks back. And if anyone decides to cancel their subscription, they will still be allowed to keep any of the exclusive content they earned as a member.

As for other future additions, one Fortnite leaker claims that mod support is coming to the game, which would allow players to create their own personalized skins and other cosmetics. The leaker, however, couldn't provide any further details beyond it being incorporated.

In terms of officially announced content, the NFL skins from 2018 are coming back, though they have been redesigned and it's said that players will be able to alter the jersey number.

And with the big Marvel crossover wrapping up, players can enjoy the Last Laugh bundle, which features DC related cosmetics, such as skins for Batman villains The Joker and Poison Ivy.

Fortnite is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
