Fortnite has become one of the most popular games in the world since its release in July 2017. Since Fortnite Chapter 4 recently launched, it appears Epic Games has not only revamped the map and weapon loadouts, but also brought new licensed crossover characters into the fold.

Fortnite is well-known for its crossover events and collaborations with other video games and completely different mediums. One of its first crossovers took place all the way back in Chapter 1 Season 4, seeing characters like Thanos load onto the island. This event ultimately led to more partnerships between Epic Games and other companies, including League of Legends, Horizon Zero Dawn, and DC Comics. The latest crossovers and those that have been confirmed for Chapter 4 are shaping up to be just as promising.

Fortnite Chapter 4 is Expanding its Legendary Roster

Geralt The Witcher Fortnite Chapter 4

Although Chapter 3 of Fortnite was the shortest in the game's history, it managed to contain some notable crossovers with franchises such as Star Wars, Rocket League, and even Dragon Ball. With Chapter 4 Season 1 confirmed to be just over three months long, there's plenty of time for players to get the newly released crossover skins and cosmetics.

At least two big names have already been included in this season's Battle Pass, with Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being a headliner. While the Witcher himself isn't playable yet, he's slated for a mid-season release on February 7, 2023. This is a bonus included for everyone who purchases the battle pass, but is not a part of battle pass progression.

Geralt will arrive with a Geralt of Rivia-themed loading screen, a Witcher Steel Sword Harvesting Tool, a Weapons of the Witcher Back Bling, Igni Sign emote, and muscle memory spray. It seems that the White Wolf will be the most recent addition to Fortnite's Gaming Legends Series, alongside popular characters including Kratos (God of War), Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), and Master Chief (Halo).

Doom Slayer is Fortnite Chapter 4's Big Headliner

Fortnite Doomslayer Chapter 4

Chapter 3's finale event showcased Doom Slayer fighting a Cacodemon with his Crucible Blade. For those unfamiliar with the character, Doom Slayer, sometimes referred to as Doom Guy, is the main character of the long-running DOOM franchise. In his own games, he's stationed on Mars as a security officer and later becomes both a demon slayer and a defender of Earth.

In Fortnite, Doom Slayer is available now at level 26 of the Battle Pass, costing nine Battle Stars. This character will be available in four different styles after completing various quests and leveling. There is his default skin, but later players will be able to don either his Astro Armor, Phobos Armor, or Ember Armor. However, there are other Doom related cosmetics appearing in the Battle Pass, starting at level 23.

Not counting his skin variants, the DOOM category shows off Doom Slayer's Cacodemon glider, Crucible Blade Pickaxe, Doom Slayer loading screen, Praetor Shroud Wrap, Helm Spray, Mark of the Slayer Back Bling, Fall To Their Doom Contrail, a Mini Slayer Fist bump Emote, and a Cackle-Dmon Emoticon. For those worried about not having enough time to unlock Doom Slayer and all of his adjoining items, they'll have until the end of this season on March 10, 2023.

Fortnite Also Adds to its Anime Roster

Deku Fortnite Chapter 4

Fortnite has had very few anime crossovers so far, but Season 4 is adding characters from the superhero shonen anime My Hero Academia (or Boku no Hero Academia). The only confirmed character so far is the show's main protagonist Izuku Midoriya, better known as Deku, though he is not yet available and doesn't have a release date. The series is not included in this season's battle pass, and neither is The Hulk - who similarly appeared in the Chapter 3 finale, but both are noteworthy additions.

If a past survey from Epic Games is any indication, it's likely that Shoto Todoroki and Ochaco Uraka could be on their way as well. In 2021, this email survey gauged audience interest toward characters such as Goku and Naruto, who have both found their way into the live-service shooter. Hopefully, this bodes well for the My Hero Academia gang whenever they arrive.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is available now on mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
