Another season of Fortnite has arrived with Season 2 of Chapter 3 and as per usual, there are a plethora of changes made to the map and the gameplay. There are also new characters that have been added via the Battle Pass. From new original characters and some guest characters, there are eight new individuals to collect this season through completing missions in Battle Royale matches.RELATED: All Mythic Boss and Weapon Locations In Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2Though there are no gameplay changes between the characters, each one provides unique designs with different skins, weapon wraps, harvesting tools, gliders, and more to collect. While some characters are bound to forever be iconic characters of the Fortnite roster, others will be fine additions that may or may not be for everyone.

8 Erisa

Cell-shaded characters tend to do well, especially if they are depicted as anime characters and Erisa is no different. She is a Neko character with several skins including one inspired by Venti from Genshin Impact that will make a lot of fans invest Battle Pass stars into.

There's nothing bad about Erisa as a character per se, but somebody has to be the least good on this list, and compared to the others, her skins aren't on the same level. Still, it is a good new addition to the now large roster of anime characters in Fortnite.

7 The Origin

The Origin in his base skin in Fortnite

His base design is definitely unique, resembling Doctor Manhattan from Watchmen if he was an imprisoned soccer player. With that said, it's still a neat addition to Fortnite since he is yet another member of The Seven that has become an integral part of the lore.

He has a few variants of his base skin that will likely appeal to different players but the skin to yearn for is his armored skin. This skin gives him a lean power armor akin to The Foundation and other various members of The Seven but has enough unique aspects to make it distinct to The Origin.

6 Kiara K.O.

Kiara K.O. is a gear-head as well as a gunfighter, hence why she has a more tattered and gritty look to her. Her base design is definitely fun with little but effective details such as her knuckles being adorned with bullets. It's a simpler character compared to the typically bombastically designed characters usually presented in a Battle Pass and that minimalist approach will likely appeal to many fans.

However, Kiara features a superior alternate skin with a black leather racing outfit with a helmet that gives off the impression that she is an elite driver. It's always better to have drastically different skins rather than recolored skins, which tends to be the route that Fortnite takes.

5 Gunnar

Speaking of recolors, Gunnar falls into that category as well with several variants of his battle armor. They aren't the worst recolors, however, with one appearing similar to Gordon Freeman's orange armor from the Half-Life series and another resembling Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

It makes sense for Gunnar to be sporting some kind of armor since he is depicted as the rival of The Foundation as shown from the opening cinematic of Season 2. Though he does not feature any alternate skins, he does feature a helmet that can be equipped to any colored skin, and it changes to match the said color.

4 Tsuki 2.0

This character is very reminiscent of a female protagonist in sci-fi anime, similar to the likes of Ghost In The Shell or Alita: Battle Angel. Instead of her schoolgirl outfit, the new Tsuki 2.0 is much more cybernetic with long feather-like pigtails.

However, fans of Tsuki 1.0 will be happy to see an alternate skin that keeps her more cybernetic look while giving her a more schoolgirl uniform akin to her previous incarnation. She also features a much more vibrant and wildly colorful skin that brings a whole new visual flavor to the character.

3 The Imagined

Yet another member of The Seven that is now playable, The Imagined is a ginger woman who looks much different from the rest of her comrades in The Seven. She's much more casual despite her high-tech armor with a nose-ring, pigtails, and a more laid-back attitude.

Her red armor combined with her wings, sword, and glider gives her a unique look reminiscent of Mercy from Overwatch mixed with Samus Aran of the Metroid franchise. However, Imagined does feature an alternate armor that is very much in line with The Origin and The Foundation in terms of design.

2 Prowler

Fortnite has a lot of guest characters at this point and a portion of them are characters from Marvel Comics. Prowler is this season's special character who won't be arriving until later, and he will be arriving with every kind of equipment from a wrap to even his own emote.

Fans will recognize him as a villain of Miles Morales, AKA Ultimate Spider-Man, and his design is a solid middle ground between the cartoonish look from Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and the more realistic and armored design of Insomniac's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

1 Doctor Strange

The final character on the Battle Pass is yet another Marvel character who has become a bit of an icon in recent years due to his own solo film and appearances in two Avengers films as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home. It is Doctor Strange, adorned with his blue tunic, red Cloak Of Levitation, and a pension for sparking portals.

Fans of the characters will enjoy unlocking him and his equipment such as his mystic rune spells that form his glider, harvesting tool, and backpack. He even has an emote that comes straight from the films with Strange using gestures with his hands to cast a spell. So far, no variant skins for Doctor Strange have yet to be revealed.

Fortnite is currently available on PC, macOS, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Mobile.
