The latest collaboration arrives in Fortnite as the Avatar franchise makes its debut with a new limited time event filled with quests, rewards, and new elemental bending abilities players can utilize. In recent years, Fortnite has leaned into collaboration events with other franchises and IPs, seemingly bringing a wide range of content into the already popular Battle Royale. Alongside giants like Marvel and Star Wars, Fortnite fans have seen a ton of collaborations across all types of mediums from the Nike brand, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Anime like Dragon Ball Z, and tons more.

Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite has continued this trend, with the debut trailer showcasing the arrival of Avatar Korra from Nickelodeon's hit TV show, The Legend of Korra. Naturally, speculation then turned to the franchise as a whole, leaving fans to wonder if the rest of the Avatar crew would be getting added as well. Thanks to various leaks and teases, it was soon confirmed that Avatar: The Last Airbender would indeed be coming to Fortnite with a special event bringing numerous features and characters to the Battle Royale for a limited time. With the event now available in Fortnite, Epic Games has revealed all of the details in a new blog post.

Fortnite Vaults Three Main Battle Royale Items

Fortnite unexpectedly removes godly items introduced during the Myths & Mortals season for the Avatar: The Last Airbender event.

In the new Elements event, Fortnite players can take on all four bending techniques from the Avatar franchise to help complete new quests to unlock cosmetics and other rewards. Players can start earning new rewards through a free and premium version of the Elements Pass to unlock gear like the Dramyin Guitar and Sokka's Space Sword Pickaxe, while the upgraded track will grant the Aang Outfit. New Quests will be added every few days, allowing players to earn Chi, which unlocks new tiers on the Elements Pass. Players who finish all six quests from each chapter will earn the Appa Glider.

Master all Four Elements to Earn New Rewards

While Fortnite fans got a taste of these bending techniques through the use of Water, Earthbending, Firebending, and Airbending have all been added, each granting new abilities. These can be found across the island, in chests, or from various shrines to find a bending scroll container to unlock the ability to bend that particular element. It's also worth noting that while this event is going on, the Season 2 Olympian Powers have been temporarily vauled.

  • Airbending - Enhanced mobility by creating an air wheel to ride in or launch players into the air with an Air Jump.
  • Waterbending - Grants the ability to launch ice projectiles, and Health will steadily restore up to 100 when standing in water.
  • Firebending - Slam down with firey explosions while also being able to launch arcs of fire.
  • Earthbending - Throw chunks of earth at enemies as well as create defensive barriers.

For those who want a little more from this collaboration, they can head to the in-game Fortnite shop where cosmetics for Team Avatar members Zuko, Toph, and Katara can be purchased. Characters can be purchazsed individually, each wither accessories like a waterskin back bling, earth rumble belt back bling, or Zuko's braodswords, or Zuko and Katara can be purchased together in one big bundle.
