With the launch of yet another Fortnite season, players can expect brand new Points of Interest on the map. Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 3 debuts with 3 new POI locations, all themed appropriately for Fortnite WILDS. These jungle areas will test players with their mysterious puzzle rooms that promise grand loot, as well as the dangerous terrain featuring other players looking to seek that Victory Royale in a game that has changed so much since even 2020.

Like most new POIs that are introduced throughout themed Fortnite seasons, the new POIs are all related to the jungle theme. From overgrown temples to research stations, there’s a lot to unpack in these new locations in Fortnite, and a whole bunch of eliminations to claim. Some players may be wondering if dropping from the Battle Bus into these uncharted new areas is worth it, and for the most part, players can expect some decent surprises.

Creeky Compound

Perhaps the blandest location to be found in Fortnite’s WILDS season is Creeky Compound. Creeky Compound is a research facility, a base that has been seen dozens of times throughout Fortnite’s long and lore-filled history. Creeky Compound is yet another one of these research bases, but there are a few differences that make it a worthwhile location to drop in.

For starters, Creeky Compound lies near the center of the Fortnite map. This is great for players that enjoy some action, as there will be all kinds of players orbiting Creeky Compound. Whether they are on the outskirts of the center, eliminations will be plenty, and the loot will be promising in this POI, as Creeky Compound is more contained than the other areas.

Despite the small number of buildings in Creeky Compound, players can still find themselves a fair bit of loot. There are multiple floors of some structures, and even some warehouses filled with a chest or two. Yet, perhaps the most interesting part of Creeky Compound is the fact that this location is surrounded by a giant cliff and a waterfall, leaving it in a vulnerable spot for players with the high ground, although, that might not matter against John Wick players.

Rumble Ruins

As the center of the map cracks and swallows in previous elements of the Fortnite Chapter 4 map, Rumble Ruins surfaces as a mysterious new temple location. Temples are no stranger to Fortnite, and they have been featured in a fair few chapters and seasons, but there’s something about this temple area that’s more than meets the eye, and that may have something to do with the mysterious Autobot shrines.

Scavenging through Rumble Ruins, players can find all manners of loot, including a decent chance at receiving the new Mythic items, like the Transformers gun in Fortnite, the Cybertron Cannon (although don't expect to find it in competitive play), which can decimate opponents and structures with one strong blast from this energy-consuming weapon. Rumble Ruins is a great place to land in Fortnite for players that want guaranteed access to loot, as there are bound to be plenty of chests and secret loot areas that will net players Rare Chests and other items.

However, the Cybertron Canon isn’t the only shining star of Rumble Ruins, as this new POI features plenty of traversal advantages, like the new version of grind rails: vines, as well as the mountains that surround and trap Rumble Ruins, making it a nice, secluded area for players that want to lay low, or, for players that want to hunt each other amongst the vast and open landscape of this jungle infested temple ruins. For the Fortnite lore fans, Sloane and her ruined tank can also be found near this POI, although it’s best not to make her hostile.

Shady Stilts

Players might notice the new POI, Shady Stilts, is sitting where a classic POI used to be. Chapter 4 saw the debut of Anvil Square, a delightful little medieval-themed village that has now been swallowed into the map, and replaced with Shady Stilts. Anvil Square is one of the many casualties to be expected with the ever-changing Fortnite map, but its replacement does offer some new variety when it comes to traversing the landscape.

Shady Stilts is a new village, featuring wooden structures and huts, along with docks that lead directly to an open ravine. The addition of separating the village into two is a great idea from Fortnite, and it means players that decide to drop from the Battle Bus to Shady Stilts won’t be swarmed in a hectic gunfight due to the tightness of the location. Although, with everything seemingly made of wood, maybe it’s best not to bring fire-spreading weapons to the fights that are to be had at Shady Stilts, or, for those more interested in a fire-fuelled chaos battlefield, go for it.

Players can explore the docks, loot buildings, and ride the grassy vines to get around this new jungle POI. The different height advantages granted by the building structures can be a great opportunity for players to loot and hide out in certain buildings, ensuring that they can evade or hunt other players in this Battle Royale adventure.

Fortnite is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
