Fortnite Season 6 will soon be coming to a close. Although the current season still has about a week to go, signs of what's to come in the next season have already begun to appear across the island.

Epic Games' free-to-play title has been steadily dropping bits of information about what its next season will be themed around - aliens. Seemingly going with the inverse of the current "Primal" season, Fortnite's Foreshadowing Quests and new Season 7 teaser are clearly building to some type of alien invasion, but there's even more proof of an impending extraterrestrial arrival.

A few days ago, a mysterious crop circle appeared at Fortnite's Colossal Crops POI, replacing one of the tall cornfields the location has become known for. The shape carved or burned into the ground is a six-pointed hexagon, interconnected by geometric lines that crosshatch the interior, with an actual circle enveloping the design. While the crop circle has perplexed many fans this week as to what purpose it might serve, now another crop circle has appeared on the other side of Colossal Crops' main building. Both circles appear to be virtually identical in design, adding another cryptic layer to the already enigmatic markings.

While nothing has been officially confirmed about the crop circles, some Fortnite players have latched onto the theory that Colossal Crops will be transformed into a new POI, similarly to what they did to Colossal Coliseum at the end of Season 5. Colossal Coliseum was completely destroyed, minus a few walls, and replaced with a small farming community. The theory is the Colossal Crops crop circles are acting as a marker for what will likely be an entirely new, alien-themed point of interest in Season 7.

The second crop circle almost guarantees something regarding aliens will be happening there, as the invasion has apparently already begun elsewhere. Players are reportedly being randomly abducted by UFOs on the island, although they're currently impossible to see. Players have posted clips of them seeing only a bright green light, and are eventually pulled towards it via a tractor beam. After a flash of light, they're dropped off at a random location, with health and shields fully restored. It's unclear whether the crop circles and UFOs will be tied to each other at all during gameplay.

Whatever the meaning behind the crop circles is, all should be revealed when FortniteSeason 7 officially kicks off.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
