More gamers are playing Forspoken on Steam right now than Redfall. Forspoken and Redfall both received mixed reviews upon their release, especially considering that they are AAA games from massive publishers.Forspoken received higher scores than Redfall overall, but both games are sitting at under 65 on Metacritic. The PS5 version of Forspoken has a score of 64 on Metacritic, while the Xbox Series X edition of Redfall has a rating of 56. The user scores on Metacritic are closer than the critic average, with Forspoken and Redfall sitting at 3.6 and 3.4 respectively. While neither game was received well, one of them appears to be more popular than the other, at least on Steam.RELATED: Many Redfall Devs Wanted Microsoft to Cancel the GameAs revealed by SteamDB, 124 users are playing Forspoken at the time of this writing, while 112 gamers are on Redfall. Both numbers are not great, but some fans probably expected Redfall to have more players given that it’s a recent release and a co-op-focused game. There might be a big reason for these numbers being in Forspoken’s favor, as Redfall is also available on Xbox Game Pass at no extra cost. So, the total number of users playing Redfall could be higher than Forspoken across all available PC storefronts.

Additionally, Square Enix released a new DLC for Forspoken titled In Tanta We Trust, which may have resulted in a renewed interest in the title. Gamers that bought the deluxe edition of Forspoken can play In Tanta We Trust for free, with this version of the game also giving them access to a mini artbook and mini soundtrack. Overall, both Forspoken and Redfall have an extremely low number of concurrent players on Steam, with the former winning out by a handful of users.

Like the Metacritic score, Forspoken wins out in the user score on Steam, as it has a rating of Mixed as opposed to Mostly Negative for Redfall. Furthermore, Redfall is one of the lowest-rated games on Steam, with titles like Resident Evil Resistance and Wolfenstein: Youngblood also present in this list.

It'll be interesting to see how Redfall’s numbers on Steam compare to Microsoft’s own launcher, although its performance on Xbox consoles doesn’t appear to be that great. Redfall has already dropped out of the top 50 most-played games on Xbox despite being a month old, but more players may decide to give it a try when the 60 FPS update launches.

Redfall is out now on PC and Xbox Series X. Forspoken is available now on PC and PS5.
