Exploring the lands of Athia is a challenging task in Forspoken, as the map is not small by any means. This is where the Pilgrim's Refuges and Campfires come in handy. Both of them serve as resting places for Frey during her journey. However, the Refuges are a safe zone while the Campfires aren't. Although the protagonist has the Refuge to sleep, some trips can be exhausting. Because of this, the Campfire is the perfect way for players to rest after a long journey without having to teleport back to a Pilgrim's Refuge in Forspoken.
Setting up a Campfire is relatively easy as long as players have Firewoods. Also, since the Camps are not the safest place to rest, Frey may have to use Cuff's Scan to make sure that no enemies are lurking nearby her rest spot in Forspoken.
How To Unlock Campfire In Forspoken
Unlocking The Campfire happens after Frey jumps over the wall of Cipal city in chapter three of Forspoken. After leaping over the walls, players will embark on a long journey to try and climb the nearby cliffs, as Frey won’t have a lot of abilities at the beginning of the game. As soon as the orphan girl heads east toward the marker quest, she is welcomed by a bunch of Breakzombies that she must defeat.
As soon as players receive the Leap Spell from the Fount of Blessing, climb the broken wall nearby. Then, jump down and use Parkour to go up the small mountain on the right side of the wall. Next, run to the end of the mountains near the city's wall while opening available chests. Finally, use Parkour again to Leap onto the mountains across. Continuing along the path and using Cuff's Scan will lead players to a Camp full of Breakzombies with a set of Firewoods in front of a tent. Do note that the protagonist may have to clear it before claiming the woods. Collecting the Firewoods will introduce players to how Frey can set up a Camp to rest.
How To Set A Campfire
To set a Campfire in Forspoken, Frey needs to have at least a set of Firewoods in her Materials Pouch. Players can place a Campfire in front of Frey by holding the down Directional Pad button on PS5 or the C key on PC. After setting it up, Frey will sit beside it and unlock the craft, rest, and leave options. Choosing the craft option in Forspoken will give players the ability to craft their desired items, or upgrade their equipment without a crafting bench. Upon leaving the Campfire, Frey will put out the fire completely.
It should be noted that players can only hold three sets of Firewoods, and this capacity is not upgradable during the game. As such, it is crucial for players to choose the right opportunity to set up a Camp, like before essential or brutal fights in Forspoken. Luckily, the game always offers one set of Firewoods outside every boss chamber in a Labyrinth, so Frey can take a breather before commencing the boss battles in Forspoken.
