Video game developers often strive for realism in their attempts to immerse players into their games. One way to do this is to include ways for players to eat, cook and rejuvenate their characters. People need food to survive, and thus so should video game characters.

The problem with that is sometimes video game developers either enjoy causing cruel appetite loss to their fans, or they have an awful taste in food. Sometimes it's unintentional, other times it's part of the game design; but either way, the result is these horrible food recipes in video games.

Much like in its mainline counterpart, players can cook food and craft potions to boost stats.

If a player's Dark Elf finds themselves hungry enough, they can stick spider eggs, Crawlers, acai berries, and seasonings on a stick and call it a meal. Baker family dinner table resident evil 7

Resident Evil 7 saw a shift in the style of gameplay previous entries employed. It was less "action zombie shooter" and more "Oh God, how do I get out of this house?" In a game featuring dead wives, hand mutilation, a cannibalistic matriarch and one of the most evil kids ever to appear in a game, it is safe to assume that any mention of food is going to be just a horrible.

And horrible it is. Players are "treated" to a family dinner cut scene after Ethan Winters is trapped in a house with the Bakers. The lovely feast, prepared by Marguerite Baker, was cooked from the human remains of the victims the Bakers had trapped in their ranch.
