The Flash was one of the characters who got a noticeable upgrade in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and even though the Snyder Cut isn’t considered canon, that alone makes Ezra Miller’s solo movie a much more attractive watch. But as if that wasn’t enough, at least a couple of Batman actors are confirmed to be on set for Barry Allen’s time travel adventure.

Filming for The Flash is currently taking place in England and Scotland, with the latter location said to serve as Tim Burton’s Gotham City from his two Batman movies, in which Michael Keaton played what is -according to him- the best Bruce Wayne of all time. Although initially planned for the earlier stages of the DCEU, The Flash's development stalled quite significantly while it spent years looking for a suitable director, pushing the film from the 2016 slot it once had in Warner’s pipeline.

Funnily enough, Argentinian filmmaker Andy Muschietti (It) and sister producer Barbara Muschietti were the ones to share these latest sneak peeks at the set of The Flash, which came in the form of a photo of Miller’s on-set chair, which had the name “Barry” emblazoned on it. The image was posted by Andy Muschietti on his Instagram account, but Barbara Muschietti raised the stakes soon after by posting a second picture of a chair, but this time featuring the name Bruce Wayne.

Confirmation of a Bruce Wayne on the set does signal great things for fans, although there’s still no indication of whether Keaton and Ben Affleck's Batman will coincide in scenes together or if The Flash will visit them separately. As has been reported for a long time now, The Flash will be based on the “Flashpoint” comics that saw Allen travel back in time to prevent his mother’s murder only to end up producing a rather undesired turn of events.

The Flash's film debut will feature not only Ben Affleck returning to take one last swing at the Batman role, but it is also the proper introduction of Iris West, played by Kiersey Clemons, as Allen’s love interest. With the added benefit of also bringing forward Sasha Calle as Supergirl, The Flash definitely packs tons of promise for DC fans, especially considering the many lessons Muschietti must have learned from watching the studio fumble with the DCEU for so many years now.

With Zack Snyder hoping to make an NFL movie after Warner Bros.’ lack of interest in pursuing his Snyderverse, it looks likes James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, plus Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, will be the films to pave the way for the next Justice League member's turn on the mainstage.

The Flash is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 4, 2022.
