August 2024 promises to be an exciting month for Five Nights at Freddy's fans as Scott Cawthon teases "something big" during the first week of the month to celebrate the franchise's 10th anniversary. The first Five Nights at Freddy's game was released on August 8, 2014, launching a franchise that would become immensely popular worldwide. Every year since the game's release, developer Scott Cawthon has celebrated in some way, be it releasing prototype character models, official interviews regarding the franchise's development, or promotional images to tease new installments.

For Five Nights at Freddy's ninth anniversary last year, Steel Wool Studios cryptically revealed that its team would be attending PAX West and potentially sharing information on Help Wanted 2, while Youtooz revealed flocked versions of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy along with a limited edition print. For Five Nights at Freddy's 10th anniversary, Mega Cat Studios teased an upcoming video game titled Into the Pit after the Fazbear Frights novel of the same name, also written by Cawthon.

No matter how one feels about the original game and its many sequels, it seems fair to say that FNaF has forever changed the indie horror genre.

Cawthon has teased a packed schedule for the first week of August 2024. The developer announced on Twitter that the crew had been working hard behind the scenes to make the 10th anniversary as special as can be. Cawthon mentions that from August 1 to August 8, there would be "something big" each day, hinting that the full August schedule would be revealed on June 19. Fans can expect to hear more about Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which was greenlit almost immediately following the success of the first film. It also wouldn't be surprising to hear more about the upcoming Roblox game Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Crew, but any guess is merely conjecture until Cawthon confirms it himself.

"Something Big" Could Pertain To New FNAF Game Releases

In December 2023, a beta version of Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Crew leaked to Roblox servers unbeknownst to Cawthon. Two hours later, the game was subsequently shut down. News regarding the official release date has yet to be made public, but following the mishap, the game is being rebuilt. As over six months have passed, Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Crew will likely be addressed at some point during the first week of August. On June 20, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 will be coming to PS5, marking even more good news for Sony players.

Mega Cat Studios released a teaser for Into the Pit, but the exact release date is still unconfirmed. A website called Jeff's Pizza, which is being utilized to market the game's release, remains under maintenance. Into the Pit is scheduled to be released sometime in 2024, but due to the unforeseen beta leak pushing back production, developer Metaverse Team Frights may not have the latest Five Nights at Freddy's game up and running on time.
