Fire Emblem Engage offers players plenty of things to do between maps and story missions. These include fishing, Wyvern Riding, grabbing a bite to eat, and the topic of this guide: Strength Training.

Strength Training is a minigame that provides the protagonist of Fire Emblem Engage with a temporary stat boost that lasts until the end of the next map, offering a method for players to gain a useful boost before a difficult challenge.

Where to find Strength Training

Strength Training can be accessed by heading to the stables on the Somniel and then turning right to find the training area. One of the units from the player's army will be heading up training and fetch Alfred to take over if the player asks about Strength training.

Players can then choose from three different strength training challenges, each with four different difficulty settings. Each of the challenge types offers a different stat boost, as shown below:

Sit-Ups

Push-Ups

Squats

Dexterity

Sit-Ups are accomplished via a timing minigame, where the player must hit the A button just as the moving bar reaches the bottom of the meter. The response to the button press is slightly delayed, so pushing just before it hits the bottom offers the best results here. Completing Sit-Ups allows players to boost the Protagonist's HP for the next map. Useful if the Protagonist is on the front lines and regularly taking lots of hits in a fight.

Push-Ups are performed using a button-mashing minigame. Players must hammer the A button to complete each Push-Up, with difficulty increasing each time one is completed successfully. Completing Push-Ups will enhance the Protagonist's Strength for the next map. Very useful for boosting the Protagonist's damage output.

Finally, Squats are performed via a fairly simple rhythm minigame where players must perform the actions on screen using both control sticks as the icons reach the middle of the circles at the bottom of the screen. Completing Squats enhances the Protagonist's Dexterity for the next map. This is very useful for giving the protagonist a higher critical hit rate in combat.

Players who have been spending plenty of time with Sommie can benefit from its aid here, as Sommie will prevent a mistake from being marked as a failure and penalize the player if their bond with the player is high enough. They are invited to join in when starting strength training. This can occur multiple times in the same training session.

Players should also note that the protagonist can only benefit from Strength Training once per map.
