In Fire Emblem Engage, players can change the look of the main character, Alear, as well as all the units in Somniel. There are a wide variety of outfits and wearable accessories, and players will get to unlock new ones as the game progresses. In order to start changing units' clothing in Fire Emblem Engage, though, players will have to get through the tutorial and a good portion of the beginning chapters. The Boutique does not unlock to change clothing until the beginning of Chapter 6.

After completing the battle in Fire Emblem Engage's Chapter 5, players will meet a new blacksmith and a clothier. These two NPCs unlock weapon upgrades in Somniel as well as the Boutique. At the Boutique, run by the NPC named Pinet, players can buy new outfits, bathing suits, jewelry, hair accessories, glasses, and more. This is also where players will need to head to change their clothing.

Buying Clothes in Fire Emblem Engage

At first, players have just a few outfits. Players can select any outfit to purchase, and it will unlock a version of that outfit for everyone to wear. While each character will have a slightly varied version or color of the outfit, the basic look will be the same.

Outfits cost Iron, Steel, Silver, and Gold coins to unlock. The beginning outfits are a swimsuit, a workout outfit, a Japanese outfit with an apron, and a casual dress. If players got the expansion pass for Fire Emblem Engage, they will also get a rare outfit, a big hair ribbon, a frilled maid ribbon, round glasses, and a single earring accessory.

More Fire Emblem Engage outfits with higher costs will unlock as players get through the chapters, so make sure to save up money, Steel, Silver, and Iron pieces.

  • Steel, Iron, and Silver pieces are one of the many items players can pick up after battles, so make sure to collect them all; they will show up as fuzzy yellow dots on the mini-maps after battles.
  • The best way to farm gold is through skirmishes, which take place on the World Map on nodes that have already been completed. These occur every couple of real-time hours, so players might want to move their Switch's time forward if they want to speed up getting new skirmishes.

Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
