Recently, Nintendo revealed the characters that will join the roster as Emblem Bracelets for the second and third wave for the game Fire Emblem Engage - a game released not long ago, on January 20, 2023, for the Nintendo Switch. These characters span over multiple titles from the Fire Emblem franchise. While wave 2 has already dropped, players must wait a bit longer for wave 3. That said, the excitement is already high for the expansion pass as beloved characters of the old are making a return.

5 Veronica

Veronica in Fire Emblem Heroes

Being a part of Wave 4 of the expansion pass, Veronica will not be available for some time but a lot is already known concerning how her bracelet, the Emblem of Heroes, will work. She is the first Fire Emblem character original to Fire Emblem Heroes, a mobile game for the Fire Emblem franchise who will appear in a mainline Fire Emblem game - being the main antagonist in most of the Books’ stories and the Princess of Embla.

Starting her story in Book I as an antagonist, she wields Élivágar, as she was bent on destroying the Kingdom of Askr by calling on heroes from different worlds and manipulating them to achieve her means. Her design in Engage seems to be taken from her Legendary alt from Fire Emblem Heroes, named Princess Rising.

4 Hector

Hector Fire Emblem

Hector is a character who debuted in the game Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, but also appeared in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and will join Engage in its Wave 2 as the Emblem of Strength. He is one of the three protagonists alongside Lyn, a character already in the game as an Emblem, and Eliwood, a character yet to be seen in Fire Emblem: Engage.

Being a part of the royal family of Ostia, he watches over as the leader of the Lycian League. As his weapon, he wields a legendary ax named Armads which was once used by his ancestor, one of the eight legends, Durban. The ax, however, curses him to never die peacefully- but on the battlefield. In the Binding Blade, he dies fulfilling this prophecy before entrusting his army to Roy.

3 Soren

Soren, Ike’s closest friend, is an important character from the game Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He will be appearing in Fire Emblem Engage in the second wave of the expansion pack as the Emblem of Acumen. As the strategist of the Greil Mercenaries, he is a logical and smart individual whose strategies are praised by many.

Being the Prince of Daein makes him royalty and he is also, in fact, from the race of Branded, indicated by the mark on his forehead.

2 Camilla

Camilla is the eldest princess of the Nohr Kingdom from the game Fire Emblem Fates. She’s already released alongside Soren and Hector in the second wave of expansion pass as the Emblem of Revelation. Being Corrin’s older step-sister, she is fierce and protective of her, just like her other siblings, and is playable throughout two routes in Fates: Conquest and Revelation.

Ruthless to her enemies, she fights for Nohr with her ax and magic on the back of her Wyvern mount. She is undoubtedly one of the most popular characters in Fates and perhaps in Fire Emblem in general. She and her retainers, Beruka and Selena, made for an interesting trio in Fire Emblem Fates and fans should be excited to see her back in Engage.

1 Chrom and Robin

Chrom and Robin are, alongside Lucina, the protagonists of the game Fire Emblem: Awakening. Lucina being already in the game, their addition would complete all the main characters from Awakening. Chrom and Robin will be a duo in a single bracelet known as the Emblem of Bonds, similar to Eirika’s ring as she fights alongside her brother, or the Emblem of Rivals with the Three House leaders.

The two form a fate-defying duo, they work amazingly well together, with Chrom as the leader of the Shepherds and Robin as their strategist. The two have very different fighting styles as Chrom wields the Falchion just like Marth and Lucina, while Robin is a skilled magic user known for making use of a Levin Sword. It seems like Fire Emblem Engage has decided to use the male version of Robin just like Fire Emblem Warriors had done.

Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
