Fire Emblem Engage's Chapter 7 introduces players to several new recruitable units, three new named enemy units, a new Paralogue, and a dangerous battle at the border of Brodia. This chapter also unlocks new features at the Divine Dragon's base. For the first time, an enemy will have an Emblem character as well, bringing in yet another fan-favorite from the 30-year-old Fire Emblem RPG series.

In order to successfully complete this chapter, players will want to complete both the Paralogue battle and the story battle, and they will want to make sure to recruit all four new units available to them

  • The Record Hall is a location where players can alter their online profile cards. This is what other players will see when interacting online in Trials.
  • The Record Hall also has a photo mode where players can pose their heroes and take screenshots of them.
  • The restaurant, known as Cafe Terrace, allows players to have meals together with other units, gaining support points, bettering their relationships with Alear, and also giving them a tasty boost for the next battle. The Cafe also allows players to bring leftovers with them sometimes; when eaten, they regain health like a potion.

  • In the Ring Chamber, players can now upgrade Engage weapons with items earned in the Tower of Trials.
  • Tower of Trials offers online-only play. Players can participate in Relay Races with other players and create maps to take on other players' armies in the Outrealm Trial. The third type of Trial, called Tempest Trials, aren't available until Chapter 11 of Fire Emblem Engage.

Fire Emblem Engage's Chapter 7 Paralogue: Mysterious Merchant in The Bandit's Hideout

Players will notice immediately that there is a new recruitable unit in this Patalogue; long-time Fire Emblem fans will recognize Anna as a recurring named in every single game in series except for one. This little thief is in the bandit's hideout, stealing from those that steal. She, hearing that Alear and their group is headed her way, hides in one of the three treasure chests on the map. In order to recruit her, players will need to Alear to interact with her.

  • The left chest has a Strength tonic.
  • The right chest has a Master Seal.
  • Middle chest has Anna.

The Fire Emblem boss, named Mitan, is standing on a protection square that heals her. She also has a resurrection stone, so she will heal when killed one time. Players will start with their party split on either side of the screen; make sure there is one caster and one healer on each side. This fight should be fairly simple. Just make sure to interact with Anna with Alear before ending this fight; once Anna and the other treasure have been collected, feel free to zoom into the room with Celine's warp and slam Mitan into dust.

The Battle for Chapter 7 in Fire Emblem Engage

Fire-Emblem-Engage-Chapter-7-h

After a cutscene that introduces Alcryst, Citrinne, and Lapis from Brodia, players will be attacked by Princess Hortensia and her minions. She will demand all the Emblems, and when Alear refuses, will begin a battle. Hortensia has one of the corrupted Emblems with Lucina who gives her backup and when she attacks, each ally within two spaces also chain attacks the same ally. Since she is a pegasus unit, players will want to make sure to bring along two ranged bow users to take her out quickly.

At the beginning of the battle, Alcryst, Citrinne, and Fire Emblem Engage's Lapis will all join Alear's party. Lapis will introduce heavy weapons; these can boot enemy units out of their spots, but they never attack first and never respond to attacks. Players can switch out Lapis' heavy weapon for a regular sword if the downsides of heavy weapons are too much to bear.

The best way to deal with Hortensia is to push forward with Louis and keep two female allies within two spots of Louis. Once in range, the whole line of enemy units behind Hortensia will engage. Make sure Louis takes the brunt of Hortensia's attacks while Fire Emblem Engage's archer units like Etie moves in with her bow.

Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
