Fire Emblem Engage, despite being a very recent game on the Nintendo Switch, already has 3 waves of DLC, with the 4th wave being planned to release before the end of 2023.

The Divine Paralogues are unlockable side-missions that the player can tackle after buying the DLC. Once bought, all the player has to do is find Emblem Edelgard in the Somniel. The players can then play Tiki’s Paralogue, or continue with the others. These Divine Paralogues reward the player greatly as they offer an Emblem Bracelet after victory. However, some of the Divine Paralogues are more challenging than others and might need more preparation.

6 The Lonely Heir - Veronica

To unlock the Emblem of Heroes, Veronica, the player has to defeat The Lonely Heir Paralogue, available in the third wave of the expansion pass.

The map splits the player's team into two groups, with 4 units on each side of the map. Veronica is standing far away and she’ll only be reachable after the characters stand on the activation tiles. The main challenge of this map is Veronica, who summons many enemies every few turns. This prompts the player to act quickly and reach Veronica as soon as possible. With the team being split up, it could raise some complications but if the units' level is adequate, the player shouldn’t have too much trouble with this Divine Paralogue because Veronica is not too hard to defeat once she’s in range.

5 The Radiant Strategist - Soren

Soren, the Emblem of Acumen, can be obtained by the player after defeating his Paralogue called The Radiant Strategist, which was released in the second wave of the expansion pass.

The player is allowed 12 units on this map which gives a lot of options when it comes to deployment. An obstacle faced here is the magma craters, which cause damage if units are standing on them. Luckily, it also affects enemy units. Smoke is also a problem here as it decreases your units’ Avoid, Defense, and Resistance. It can easily be countered with Corrin or Camilla’s Dragon Vein, however. The map is fairly easy if the player is quick and while Soren has one long-range attack, it is easy to deal with, with a high-resistance unit.

4 The Brash General - Hector

Fire-Emblem-Engage-Hector-DLC-01

To unlock the Emblem of Strength, Hector, the player will have to get through his trial, which is his Divine Paralogue, The Brash General.

In this battle, the player is allowed 8 units. An issue that could be faced during this battle is the poison vents, which can chip at the units’ health bars. On the bright side, it also affects enemy units. This map is very tight and might be hard to navigate, especially as the enemy reinforcements keep coming in. Hector is positioned in the North West of the map and once the player is there, he is one of the hardest units to defeat due to his tankiness, making this map one of the harder ones.

3 The Doting Sister - Camilla

Fire-Emblem-Engage-Camilla-DLC-04

The Doting Sister is the Divine Paralogue to unlock none other than Emblem Camilla, the Emblem of Revelation, and, perhaps, the hardest paralogue the 2nd wave had to offer.

This map offers the player 10 units to deploy. The units will have to advance from their initial position in the southwest to reach Camilla in the North Center. The map is constituted of very tight pathways and corridors which makes it all the more challenging. This map has a large number of flier units that can swoop in on the player’s units easily due to how much easier it is to navigate for flying units. Camilla is very powerful in the enemy phase but if the player surrounds her, she can be taken down easily as she only has one revival stone.

2 The Shepherd Exalt - Chrom And Robin

The second and, perhaps, the hardest Paralogue from the 3rd wave of the expansion pass, The Shepherd Exalt is required to beat to unlock Chrom and Robin, the Emblem of Bonds.

The player gets to deploy 10 units on this map. It is quite difficult, and even reaching Chrom and Robin requires the player to destroy three crystals during the same phase to disable the magic barrier. The map has numerous reinforcements which might make it challenging as the player will split up to destroy the crystals. What makes it harder is the fact that, on turn 3, the map will be flooded with water, which will impact the units’ Avoid. Defeating Chrom and Robin won’t be the easiest mission as Chrom has 2 revival stones while Robin has 1.

1 The Ancestor - Tiki

Fire Emblem Engage Tiki

The first Divine Paralogue the player will have to challenge in Fire Emblem Engage, The Ancestor is the mission given to unlock the Emblem of the Dragon Princess, Tiki.

In the Dragon Temple, the player gets only 8 units while the enemy has endless reinforcements, making this map very challenging, especially if under-leveled. The player has to first head to the room in the northwest to open another room, which then enables them to open the room with Tiki in the North East. Tiki’s Phantom Wyvern fabrications are extremely powerful and can attack from a great distance. Tiki herself won’t be the easiest to beat either, and will require the player to surround her.

Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
