This sci-fi romance series is penned and illustrated by Ichigo Takano. It tells the story of eleventh-grader Naho, who finds a letter addressed to herself by herself ten years later into the future. While Naho initially dismisses the letter, she gradually starts believing in it after all of its predictions gradually come to fruition. The letter instructs Naho to watch over Kakeru, the new transfer student in her class, because she is the sole individual who can prevent a horrible future that is destined for him.

Orange was quite the success in its time, garnering sales of over a million copies in Japan. It was intended to have five volumes, the sixth being described as "extra stories". Takano also stated at the time of publication that this sixth volume might not be the last one.

The upcoming seventh volume of Orange will contain a different perspective of the story fans know. In this version, fans can expect to read about a world where "Kakeru could be saved". Moments such as Kakeru communicating with his friends, and vice versa, are included in this issue. Futabasha Publishers Ltd. stated that the seventh volume will make readers "cherish even more the irreplaceable beings beside you in times of happiness, sadness, joy, and pain".

Takano intends to further the reader's emotional experience with the story. The theme of life and living will be prevalent in the upcoming volume. Volume seven of Orange has been confirmed to be the final installment of the manga series. Fans will most definitely be delighted to hear that one more volume, albeit the last one, will be published. Romance lovers should take a chance on reading this series.

Crunchyroll digitally publishes the manga in English in North America, while Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the series physically. Crunchyroll also licenses the 2016 anime adaptation.
